Yankee Express RestoMod Project

Cool, look forward to seeing the finished product.
I just got the torque shaft, arms, and linkages in the mail yesterday and they are being cleaned up. I still need to reassemble the valve body as well for the 727. Once that's done and buttoned up I can then set the trans in the car and begin to work out the linkage lengths and all.

Here's the rough product before finish shaping and sanding. Also need to make and weld in place the hips below the handle bottom. Black Walnut wood.

For some reason I’m thinking “Forged in Fire”. Great job Ghost!

Get the belt sander going, it’ll be in shape really quick.

Finally got over to Maine and picked up the 67 Charger hood that I bought. It's in better shape than I expected. Great buy at $125 bucks.

Ordered two 66 T Bird tail light trim pieces today so I can cut them to fit the middle spaces on my set up. Then they will match all of the way around.

Yeah, that trans piece is kinda important. Looking good on the hood/scoop!

Got the T Bird trim and the Fat Mat in the mail yesterday.

Cut the T Bird trim to fit in the gaps and it looks natural like factory. I'm liking it! I'm so smart....lol. Installed the billet steel apply band strut.

Tomorrow it goes up on stands while I take everything apart. I have worked out all of the fabrication that needed to be done before bodywork and paint so the time is nigh to get it back to a shell and get the body ready for paint. I want to drive this critter so I need to get going on getting it painted so I can begin to put parts back on for good.

It's up on stands. I removed everything but the dash/console. I bought some 3/16 x 1 1/2 steel angle and fabbed up a tray for the fuel cell to rest in and used a heavy wire to make a model of the trajectory of the filler hose down and around from the pop up filler on top of the quarter. 1 3/4" OD on each end. Took the wire down to a local garage ( Randy's Garage) lol. He will fab up a metal tube from my wire form and I will trim it to fit and connect each end with a rubber gas line hose 3" section. I have not yet welded the tray in place till I get the filler tube back. Next is removing the rear axle and installing new wheel cylinders after it's finish painted. Followed by the entire front inc K frame rolling out from under to be disassembled for paint. Then it's on to bodywork finishing and paint. Also need to make a template of the floor bottoms to cut the connecting frames to fit and install them.
