Short lived and not worth it IMHO...cr8crshr/Bill

I bought a Crossfire SRT Roadster for my wife 12 years ago. Had 2,900 miles on it. She loves that car. It’s really a cool car. It’s almost as quick a our SRT8 Chrysler 300. Now with 30k on the clock I’ve only had to replace the supercharger cooler water pump.I always thought they were cool. I know they were unpopular but I saw one at the Mega Mopar Series in Denver and the SRT models are pretty damn quick. Too bad the SRT only comes as an automatic. They are pretty cheap considering they are a Mercedes SLK.
Since being a Crossfire owner for twelve years and not having any major problems with the car, I would suggest anyone interested in buying one to go to crossfire forum.org and learn the ins and outs of the car. Also you will discover that Chrysler Dealers don’t have the expertise to work on them and most Mercedes Dealers refuse to work on them IMO. But you need to do your own repairs or find an independent Shop that specializes in Mercedes.I always thought they were cool. That's not fair! ....to the dogs.
Hard to believe today, but our beloved B bodies fell into this category when I was in my 20s. The cars were cheap at the time, but body and trim parts were impossible to get.I'm always trying to think of overlooked cars. 2nd Gen Chargers are great but you're going to pay the big bucks. I'm always trying to think out of the box. That means cars that are cool but might not be very popular.

Looking back, I think the dealership wanted to sell me a newer vehicle, rather than permit me to keep the first GTX looking clean and original. In the late 70s, it took nearly six months of pestering the service manager to get a set of factory exhaust tips for $12, and a trunk lip molding for a bit more. I tried to get a new quarter panel for Baby Blue in 1983, and struck out.I was able to buy lots of NOS parts from the dealership for my 68-70 cars in 1982. Looking back, I wish that I had the funds and insight to buy triples of everything.
