That same page you linked to also states their gen purpose engines are made MAINLY in the US. From design to manufacture.
And, the pic provided is from the plant in Maryville, MO so it's not they MAY have a plant there, but they DO.

I agree on buying from my local outdoor Power Equipment places. I avoid big box stores for big equipment.

That's smart as in some cases the product at the box store isn't the same as what is sold at the full service outlet and, in fact may be made by a contract partner and branded otherwise.
