As for women in general, my wife knew nothing about cars before I met her, and knows only a little now after 30 years of marriage, but that's okay. My girlfriend of 2 years hated cars when I met her, never wanted to learn how to drive, and thought the Belvedere was the biggest waste of money. Now she is attending driving school and wants a Mercedes (haha). Still thinks the Belvedere is a waste of money.

I remember a couple months ago when I first bought my bmw (sold now), I took her to the mall and it snowed while we were there. The car had bald summer tires and a 4.10 viscous lsd (locks up alot harder than a clutch style). The drive home involved alot of rev limiter and drifting. She didn't talk to me for a good two or three days after that.

This thread is awesome, thanks for the laughs. What makes me even more sad is it is obvious this girl's Dad has never explained the finer things in life to her. Dads should be teaching thier daughters not only what a manual transmission is but how to change tires/oil/etc. What if someday thier daughter is being chased in a field by a guy with a chainsaw and the only car to escape with is one with a manual transmission, flat tire, and a quart low.

My daughter is three and knows what a Roadrunner is, although that is cheating because she recognizes the cartoon character on it.

There's the generation gap right there, Frostbite. Most girls nowadays don't care about the cool cars (maybe a ricer). My generation, the girls would date the guys that had the coolest cars. Just think, in 20 years when your driving around town in your charger and you see her walking into Wal-Mart with 5 kids in tow, you can get another laugh from that.

X2. My daughter's first car was an old Volvo 240 5 speed. She complained when I first told her that's what she had to drive for a year but she learned to love driving manual. When she moved up to a newer car which was auto, she told me how much she missed the Volvo and how sometimes she clutched with her left foot out of habit. Also, driving home from high school with a girl friend, the tailpipe popped off the hanger and was dragging. She called me, I told her what to do, she got the work gloves out of the trunk, got under the back of the car and popped the tailpipe back onto the hanger. Her girlfriend was standing there with her jaw dropped in awe !!!!!

It doesn't matter if we're in a car or on my Harley, flooring it gets my girl off! And we're in our fifties!

That's what you need to look for. Do some local racing or car shows and pick a hot one that's interested in your car. Take her for a ride and watch what happens...

I really should not make fun of blondes, my daughter is one, but heck, she can shoot almost as good as me, and even helped me install my gas tank. Here it goes about 25 or so years ago I was waiting at the diesel pump to fill up my VW Rabbit, when this blonde woman prepaid at the pump, filled up then started to drive off and her rental U-Haul truck died, about 5 feet from the pump. She said I just filled it up, aren't all trucks diesel ? I felt bad for her, had to get a tow truck, but common sense would kick in when you started it, diesel runs totally different than a gas engine......never forgot it.....
