Surely that first one made a dead stick landing. I don’t see how that prop could generate much speed or make much distance.
Maybe wheels up landing, dead stick would likely have a blade or two still unscathed.

Yeah, that’s probably what happened. I now see the lower cowling is missing, probably damaged or scrubbed off in the wheels up landing.

Here's a nice example of "relaxed directional stability".

I’m guessing Viet Nam era AA fire of some type?

Interesting. Newer models have a lot of advantages, but I imagine like the A10 the B52 has had it's own advantages and applications.
I think currently the military better figure out how to counter drones, AI controlled micro craft, robotic soldiers, and the rest of the skynet inspired future-weapons before getting to involved updating old stuff. Of course, perhaps the old stuff IS being updated to combat the new stuff and we don't know about it....

At altitude I don't think drones will be a problem with all the electronic warfare weapons on board.

No no, I mean for us. You know, on the ground :) I meant to say maybe they are upgrading the aircraft to combat that stuff, not defend the aircraft against it.

Well, as are as I can tell, unless the military drones or robots are wire guided, like the very deadly ones used in Ukraine, they aren't a problem to defeat.
