I am working on my full restoration 1968 convertible GTX. I live in California so really no rain and I will not be driving in the rain.
I do not like the stock windshield wiper full assembly setup - the motor assembly is just too big in the engine compartment and the mechanism to connect the 2 wipers is also cumbersome.

I would like to set up just one wiper, to be legal, with a single speed I was thinking of trying to mount a "Mighty Wiper" motor directly through the drivers side wiper hole ?
Has anyone done this or something else like this to get rid of the stock wiper setup ?

another option, I may just install everything except the windshield washer motor - and bolt an aluminum plate over the hole in the firewall.

Thanks

But with this option you will have to sit on my hood and to clean the windshield if it ever rains.... you might put a dent in the hood.

you should be able to work it from the driver's seat.......it has bendy joints and stuff

I think sticking with the stock set up would be better especially since it’s a complete restoration. Though I have to say the wiper motor you pictured is something I never thought of or seen before. Something new I learned.

Good luck with your project, it would be interesting to follow your progress if you choose to install just a single wiper.

A great movie Planes trains and automobiles has fully covered this subject and more.
Watch it again and take notes!

If that's not your style the Red Green has it covered also.
