what would cause the tranny to shift at 4500 wot most of the time and won't downshift at a higher rpm but the weird part is every once and a while it would upshift at more of a normal 5200 rpms. tranny was rebuilt and the line pressure was turned up a little. kickdown is adjusted all the way.
they do have aluminum retainers but he has to change them to get to lower spring pressure from 1.8 to 1.9 installed height. would be 130 seat 300 open instead of 150 seat 325 open he called them magnum springs. try them yes but it will be a $2000.00 experiment.
someone has a set of ported heads he calls them stage 3 and the stage 4 he calls race heads. would the stage 3 hurt bottom end power. still has the 2.08 1.74 valves. only have 2.94 gears and 2200 stall converter.
update I took out the Mancini retainer that I put in with the engine rebuilt and the black seal that came with the kit at the time. put in the fast fish seal with a stock retainer. The car was still on jack stands but I did start it and let it warm up to temperature rev it up somewhat. so far no...
I don't think it did any good turning it upside down except to put whatever junk was sitting in the bottom of the bowls all over inside the carb and maybe changing the float levels too. just take the top off and see what is going on.
mine has the Mancini seal and retainer it started leaking on the break in. I think the fast fish with the stock retainer is what I am going to do. fast fish retainer has no side seals and I don't want to use that one..
