2.25" in and out, offset inlet, center outlet, about 19 5/16" by 4" by 10 1/2" bodies and 25 11/16"" overall length. Same number as th old HEMI muffler as far as Walker books showed in 1977: 21595.
Nitro Rat, thanks for your comments. The XLERATORs we used and tested have welded cases, like the ones I built. This is one of the very early ones, a 14" case. These are relatively loud and that is due to the short case and the perf pattern they used. The big ones, like you mentioned, used a...
What is different is that the st. st wrap stops any blow out. It acts like a one way filter. Sound through it and no ceramic out. Without the st. st. sock material, you are dead on, it all blasts out pretty quickly.
Here the stuff is on the VOE mufflers I built. Some are going on 22 years...
Had a lot of parts left over from other projects and decided to use them to build these two, large, st. st 3" in and out mufflers for my pal's 1966 or 1967 Dodge Coronet.
They have 21.5" bodies that are 11" by 5" and are made from 409 and 304 st st.. They have a very good pattern perforated...

I just did one with the motor home swap. The one I used was a 76-78 440 18,000 GVH unit and it was a tough transmission. if you can find one, they have some HD stuff in them. Of course, you need to switch the output shaft and extension housing but when going through them anyway, that is not a...
Cuda, the planet carrier should not stick out of the ring gear assy. like it does in that image. is it missing the thrust washer inside (for the photo anyway) ?
James, You need to fit the 5" by 11" by 21" Magnaflow on it. They sound good, flow great, do a real nice job of toning it down and will not resonate too badly if they mount them correctly. If there is still a 5 by 11 Superturbo, it is even better if it is the long body one.
Some car guy, if that is an open box inside that junction, I'd be hesitant to use it. I am not sure what the benefits would be, if any. Pypes' X-junctions are much closer to the original Dr. Gas X junctions.
