Any thoughts/experience with this cam kit?

Maybe if you tell us your complete drivetrain and what you want out of it we can better help you. If you have a low compression motor and want it to sound nasty then this may be the cam for you. I don't generally like to see that much of a split in duration but it may work in certain setups.

Any thoughts/experience with this cam kit?

My first thought would be why do you think this is the right cam for you?

For Your Street Motors: Who Here Chose Manifolds And Who Here Chose Headers?

Headers are my preference in the quest for the most my engine could produce. That being said if I had a car with manifolds and it needed nothing then I would have no problem running them. I would also rather have a better intake manifold and better heads with manifolds than stock heads and...

6" rims all around...who has them?

You have a 24.1" tall tire now.How much room do you have to grow up? 225/70 is 27.4 and 235/70 is 27.8, that is a lot of room to grow. Mind your width on the rear also. If it doesn't have a enough room maybe a 215/65/15(26") on the front and a 225/70/15(27.4) on the rear will work. Hopefully...

6" rims all around...who has them?

Nice Belvedere! I would think a 4" backspace would work also but measuring is your friend. What size tires are on there now?

Is there a better cam for me?

I would degree the cam before I did anything else.

Big block hydraulic roller cam/lifter choices

You didn't say what heads will be used? I would want to know that before I picked a cam.

    440 Hp guesstimate

A street dominator and some 1 7/8 headers would put you right up there.Just the intake swap would be worth a comparison.

Big block hydraulic roller cam/lifter choices

I like a lot of the Howards cams specs I see. With a good set of heads don't know that it would want that much extra exhaust duration though. I am about to do a similar pump gas build with a 4.25 stroke crank and I have cnc ported edlebrocks. Trying to decide if I want hyd or solid roller. I...

    440 Hp guesstimate

550hp would be my guess. On the street it may like a 1 7/8 header more unless you have deep gears and a stall.

Is there a better cam for me?

The cam you have should make good low end. It is not a " large " cam. I would degree it and see where it is. Installing it at the recommended centerline if it is retarded should improve low end and midrange.

Or put a pair of glasspacks before the mufflers.I would be surprised if the drone isn't gone.

    camshaft recommendation

Oversight on my part. They made the same cam for big blocks as well.

Static/Dynamic Compression and Advancing Camshaft Question

Go with the aluminum heads regardless. Advancing the cam generally raises cranking compression. Someone smarter than me will be along with the math.

    WTB BB Stroker shortblock

Very nice. Will keep it in mind although mainly looking for an assembled shortblock. Already have a 4.25 stroke crank if I decide to build.

    WTB BB Stroker shortblock

Just about ready to do a bb stroker for my Duster. Before building I thought I would see if anyone has a shortblock with a 4.15 or 4.25 stroke crank ready to go. Would consider a low deck with 3.91 stroke crank as well. I have the top end already. Pump gas motor as this is a street car. Cam is...

    512 stroker

If you are building for torque you have a good start. I will say any work you do to the heads will be returned an power/torque everywhere. For something with a good idle and plenty of vacuum something like the comp xe274 will have a stock idle, use stock rockers if needed and make torque...
