The Elephant In The Room: unloading the load from a B-body.

I would like to compare the CM unit from Strange,MW,etc... to the forged unit like the one pictured. Probably not much difference but it could be made lighter due to the strength of CM. Both of my shafts use 1350 forged units. Gus

1968 charger rear frame rail replacement question

it doesn't matter why.....the leaf spring pressure may be pushing it up as you undo the sheet metal you need to anchor the end of the rail to the the floor and jack up at the front of the rail. it will move easily if you already have the sheet metal separated. just make everything square and...

1968 charger rear frame rail replacement question

What side aligns correctly with the bumper holes? Also measure from the top lip of the tail panel down to the trunk floor at the same location on opposite sides (L & R). Farther apart the better. Should be pretty close to the same dimension.

First new tool box since '67...

I got old tools. Old tool boxes. Over 50+ years old. Yeah, some newer since I had to get metric tools which I didn't need back in the day. I've actually lost tools.... anybody lose tools ? Right now I can't find my trusty ol' air longboard.

Hobby over for me I fear.

I started messing with cars in the mid/late 60's....and know what it's like to try and get into a late model car these days. I'm learning though. I'm blessed that I can still row a stick car and I hit 235 a few years back and am 5' 9" and knew something needed to be done about it. So far, no...

    Carb spacer

There are probably at least a few benefits to a spacer, but mainly academic? 1) isolating the carb from heat. 2) it gives the intake charge a more gradual turn into the runner which helps flow. 3) it increases plenum volume. I used one a long time ago mainly to address concerns regarding heat.

    Cold air intake idea.

Something we did a couple times back in the garage in the early 70's. But, not on my cars.

With Stinger Fiberglass now seemingly gone, what company makes the best glass hoods?

In place and ready for the Rat race. Passes inspection.

The Elephant In The Room: unloading the load from a B-body.

One elusive item for this creation simply because it isn't produced and thus available, is the dreaded transmission slip yoke in Titanium. This is where strength is needed obviously, but it would be gravy if it were available in the pretty super strong light alloy.

First new tool box since '67...

Well I got my new box positioned in the right place. Three of my old boxes are being passed down to one son and two go to great grandsons. I'm keeping that red combo right now to go into my engine assembly area to house my assembly and measuring tools, hones etc. Next summer I hope to buy a...

Final stages of installing A/C system

All major components were new while using original suction and discharge fittings, and the original liquid line. All other fittings and hoses were bought from COLD HOSE. I was able to cut and crimp the fittings and I'm very pleased with the final results. Bought a hydraulic assist crimper from...

    Carb spacer

I must be getting old and losing it. That doesn't look like a stock intake manifold to me.

    Anyone know this car?

The Seller didn't clean the white letter tires. :p The digits on the odometer are nicely aligned. Yeah, automatic on the column is a downer. Talk to them on the telephone.

Broke down and tried a new converter

If your running a street tire, which I thought you had a 255 BFG?..I think your experiencing track prep differences between lanes and weekends. Their is a huge difference in traction from a race oriented around street cars and a track prepped for bracket racing. Love the picture.. beautiful car !

    Cold air intake idea.

When I get around to it, I'll get ahold of an inner tube. Cut out a couple of strips[ one for backup] and make a wrap to go around it with a latch/catch of some sort to tension it a bit and keep it in place.

    FOR SALE 1963 Polara convertible

The original build sheet is still in the rear seat springs. Thinking that it's best to see the car as-is in order to show how solid and straight it is. Paint over filler just disguises rust buckets. Samo samo for undercoating. I have been using Rhino Liner in any areas that I removed the...
