Well I found the answer to the K frame question. Turns out schumacher engine mounts is the way to go and then no need to swap the k frame. Will be ordering soon as they are back in business it looks like.
I thought I found a shop to do engine work, from a recommendation, but after talking to...
Posted a while back in other threads but thought I would share as a post itsself. You will be able to buy Schumacher mounts again soon. Personally cant wait to get some for my 74 charger 318 to 400 stroker swap.
'73+ A,B,C,F,M,J-Body Small Block to Big Block
If anyone was wondering I received a reply saying the Schumacher mounts would be in stock in 3 weeks for my application. May see if they have what you need as well.
Thanks fellas, sorry if I caused some confusion. I think the thread will now be helpful for anyone from the 65-74 models though.
Also google said as of 1/8/22 they are back and to bear with as they rebuild inventory. Engine swap solutions for your classic Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth
Okay. I have no issues buying the Schumacher mounts, or even fabbing my own as long as the small block K frame is fine to use. As I see they are not in stock.
Wait a minute so I don't need to worry about finding a "big block" K frame for my project?
1974 dodge charger with 318 in it currently but will be dropping in a 400 stroker. So I just need the proper engine mounts? Either aftermarket poly or factory ones done like Dave mentioned? I am positive...
Stupid question.. If I find a bigblock K frame for the 400 do I need all of the suspension A arms and what not specifically for that frame?
Overview of my thinking process, feel free to add.
Order I am doing things in currently:
Step 1:
- Finding a shop to do the machine work and install...
Any one have a recommendation on what custom fuel injected compatible tank they have and like?
Also is there really a big benefit on a return or returnless system? Wanting to buy a tank soon.
I will be doing a 500 or 512 stroker build and going fuel injected for sure.
Not sure that I mind the pump being in or out of the tank, But if the car would mind then thats a different story. This will be driven quite a bit if that matters 7-10k miles a year or so
I was looking at the holley sniper kit and it has a returnless style option with in tank pump.
Going to start my project soon and need to get a new gas tank. The old one while in fair shape.. suffered a puncture when pushing it onto the trailer with a tractors hay forks.
plan is a 400 and make into a 500 or 512. Going to stay NA, likely 500hp range ish.
Question: I just want to make...
Messed around with the charger this weekend.
Took the truck battery and swapped it in the car, checked oil level 1/4-1/2 quart low, pulled plugs and they were ok but will get new ones. When I pulled the plugs I put a small amount of power steering fluid in the cylinders just so the walls would...
I have not had a lot of free time and have been working on a house project. I did manage to buy a few things for the car since I don't have anything to really tinker with after the house project is done. I am going to see if cleaning and maybe rebuilding the carb, putting fresh fluids in it, new...
I'm pretty handy with any wrench and a welder.. just not a fan of the sander and paint guns..
I plan to do everything but the body and paint work and the reupholstering. I will leave those to the professionals.
Where did you get your dash carpets and what not from for the interior?
