Hello so I had my voltage regulator go out on my 69 charger 318 with points ignition , ordered a new voltage regulator went and installed it but it’s not charging, went and dug up an old voltage regulator from a junk pile and it worked .So been trying to dig up info on this why the new regulator...

Im not gonna hack it up it will be done in a fashion where it can be put back to stock

Its a base charger its even an XH code not even an XP so im not like ruining some special charger

Yup i am thinking about putting a cummins engine in it something like the guys at vegas rat rods have done i even talked to them about doing it and they thought my idea the way i wanna do it was awesome but there to busy to do it so i might do it myself ,its not gonna look like the general lee...
