...to keep my pushbuttons AND add a gear vendors overdrive to my 64 Dodge 440.
OK so after months of attempted calls and emails to ImperialServices I've given up on having them update my pushbutton console. Unless somebody here knows the secret handshake/subject line/ringtone to use in order...
Great to hear that. I already put in the poly mount. I was a little afraid that there would be more involoved, but it wounds pretty straight forward. How difficult was it to set up the cable kit for the console?
...will have a 727 that you can use if you're not married to the pusbutton thing.
A later 727 is a direct bolt in if you use the imperialservices mount that is sold by Schumacher.
I converted a /6 3 speed car to a 440/727 car and it's one of the easiest swaps you will ever do once the...
...I was under the car I was looking at the trans cross member and it is bolted to the torsion bar member ... can I just unbolt it with out causing any issues?
P.S. After wresting with the shift and park cables in the push button tranny I will be switching to the ImperialServices conversion...
...go with a BB pushbutton (relatively hard to find and expensive when you do) to bolt up or you can use a later model 727 with the ImperialServices transmission mount that Schumacher sells as well.
The radiator will need upgraded, drive shaft swapped (if you go later 727), etc. but...
O.D.
Good luck with ImperialServices. Ordered a conversion at the Carlisle event 2 years ago and still haven't got it. They got my money though. About 8 months ago when I was able to get ahold of someone from there I was told that "Your on the hot list and we will get it out to you ASAP" I'm...
Give ImperialServices a try. They do lots of stuff with push button setups including converting them to work with non pb transmissions. They might have the answer. Worth a shot. http://www.imperialservices.net/. Maybe you can get an early - mid 90's 518 with the adapter, use the pushbuttons...
Schumacher mount and Imerial Services are one and the same. I ordered mine from Schumacher and it had "Imperial Services" moulded right into the rubber (or whatever it is).
Mine was $79 + shipping IIRC.
Oh yeah, worked perfectly too.
...use a Gear Vendors unit attached to a '66 or newer 727 and send the pushbutton control unit, shift cable bracket, and park lever to ImperialServices for modification. They call it the "Pushbutton modification package" for around $600, ON SALE NOW!!
Special thanks go out to (in order of...
Actually, I believe Imperial makes them, but Schumacher sells them. I don't think they are the same company, though. Other vendors sell cables that Imperial makes - and Imperial sells direct as well.
