I own a 64 Fury 4 door and have been offered a 440 rebuilt with 4bbl and just about everything for the install more or less free of charge. As of now I have a 318 wide block. I am told that I will need a different transmission. What model tranny is called for? Also, this has a push button transmission. Will this linkage work with the switch. Recently purchased this vehicle, from a barn sale for next to nothing. Interior and chrome perfect. Exterior very good and can be brought back to a decent shine. Both rear quarters need new skins...the current engine actually runs quite well but needs valve seals...any answers appreciated as I am new to attempting rebuilds and am doing with my son. I have a very good mechanical and electrical background. Tinkering with cars for 40years! :icon_cool:

If I'm not mistaken, you should be good to go with the transmission. It's a 727 and I'm pretty sure the Poly 318 and the Big Blocks shared the same bellhousing pattern. Perhaps someone else will chime in. You'll also need the correct engine brackets, this should help:

The 440 will go in with the current K-member. You will need the correct 440 brackets and insulators to mount it, though. Schumacher sells them.

As for the transmission, you can go with a BB pushbutton (relatively hard to find and expensive when you do) to bolt up or you can use a later model 727 with the Imperial Services transmission mount that Schumacher sells as well.

The radiator will need upgraded, drive shaft swapped (if you go later 727), etc. but, overall, this is a very easy swap
