Hard to put times on a stick car as it’s so driver dependent. 71 b body with a 3.55 gear and a close ratio trans isn’t going to be a barn burner. Low 14’s maybe a high 13 with a good driver.

Found my noise! Forgot to update from my last post. It broke the flex plate and did some damage to the trans. Nothing major, I freshened the trans, sent the convertor out, and stuck a new flex plate on it. Noise fixed.. lol

Ran the car over last weekend. Went old school and started really looking at the plugs, the 02 sensor just didn’t seem to be giving me the info I wanted. The cut outs seem to mess with it, especially when they are open. Ended up jetting the carbs down on the primary, car kept picking up. Went...

Quick update, first outting in the car in 10 years. Well it turned out to be a good weekend. Got to make 3 time trial hits Thursday. Car started off in the 9.90’s, so I started leaning the carbs. By Saturday it was in the 9.80’s in the heat and humidity pretty sure it would have went 9.70’s...

Seems as it has to be getting fuel from somewhere. Cant believe it’ll even start with the .024 IFR.

I ran the MP intake on the first incarnation of this engine. The distribution seemed better on that one. I’ve been told by a racer who ran both intakes on a high hp 572 that the Barton made around 40hp more on his combo. The plenums are certainly smaller and the carbs sit in different spots...

I may have 5 fixed too, gonna need some more drive time. Good reminder and A/F gauge is a tool and not an absolute. Gotta read those plugs!
