I added the braces to the turbo mounts. The mounts weren’t rigid enough as they were so I needed the additional support. The entire mount is removable if need be.

Glazing the engine bay. This should be in blue paint in a couple weeks. Amazes me how many pin holes form in the body filler.

That mounting setup was a horrible failure. It wouldn’t easily come off so I converted it to these bolt together tube connectors which perform perfectly. Bolting a stand to it would add time and complexity when at the races but is still an option. I’ve got lots of time to think on it.

More angle forward would definitely help with the look. It’s 3 separate pieces that bolt to the nose and two that bolt to the fenders. I’m gonna finish this and see how I like it as I can always make another. One of the primary goals for this car was the standing mile which needs all the air out...

I’m really undecided as to whether or not I like the chin spoiler. It’ll look much better when it’s trimmed up and painted black.

    70 Hemi Superbird Restoration..................errr.....scratch that........

Before I can pull the fenders off for paint, I needed to finish a few things. One is the gap between the doors and fenders and the other is the front air dam. The factory one hints at its true potential but misses the mark for what I need. I didn’t like the slight v shape of the original either...

I had to add a little more glass to the decklid to get the gaps even. They’re tight at about 1/8” or so.

We sprayed the roof while we were at it. It’ll get a couple coats of semi gloss black and a vinyl top on it eventually.

Engine bay got a couple of coats of primer. Needs some creme filler added in spots for the pin holes, but otherwise, looks great.

The engine bay is ready for primer. Hopefully I can get that done this weekend. I’ve been working on getting the rear window opening done and the area under the triangles looking right as well. Rear window trim needs a couple of spots welded and it’ll be ready for powdercoat.
