Thanks. I actually took the original to a local radiator shop who has been known for good work in the area for many years. He didn’t recore it but he flushed it out and did whatever else he thought it needed. It’s leaked at the upper hose inlet joint ever since. I am kinda at the point...
My '73 small block RR was ordered with N51 Maximum Cooling so it has the 28" radiator (P/N 3673028) in it. I want to replace it with a new radiator but so far, I haven't found a direct fit replacement. I am thinking to just go with an aluminum 26" model, but I am wondering what changes between...
@scottyv here is a pic I found showing the factory 3 spd set up from my car with bucket seats but no console and a 4spd with bucket seats. Hope it helps.
I took the cap off to watch what was happening and saw the pump was picking all the fluid into the system and emptying the reservoir. When I shut the engine off all the fluid rushes back into the reservoir and over flowed. I took a chance and added fluid with a long funnel while it was...
I put a new power steering gear, pump and lines on my ‘73 Road Runner. I added fluid and started the engine then shut it off to check the fluid level. I added some and I guess put too much in. Then I started the engine and did the turn it lock to lock to try and purge the air out. I turned...
The coil is an MSD Blaster 2 8202 which was reccomended by BluePrint. By connecting both the 22 and 23 circuits to the coil positive I have effectively tied the run and start circuits together into the coil. Maybe the lag is in the relay? I’m going to try a jumper from the choke wire (blue...
I have a crate 408" magnum stroker from BluePrint. The car is a 1973 Road Runner. The engine came with an external coil HEI style ignition. Knowing I would not need the ballast resistor or the electronic ignition box I decided to make a new wiring harness and not cut up the factory one...
Just for anyone wondering, the Doug’s D453 fit great. Driver side went on with no problem; I had to trim a casting nub off the bell housing on the passenger side. Car was up off the ground about 12” and I lifted the engine out of the mounts about 2”.
My '73 Road Runner has what appears to be a factory power steering cooler. Its mounted directly to the back of a Federal style pump. Is there a code on the build sheet that would have driven this?
Yes. For the G2-20V the “G” is gauges, still not sure what the 2 is, 20 is the wire gauge and V is violet. The R6-12BK: “
R” is the charging system, still don’t know about the second position, 12 is wire gauge and BK is black. So there is a cadence. “A” is battery, “J” is ignition, “V” is...
Looking at the factory 1973 Service Manual wiring diagrams and I have some questions that I can’t figure out or want to be sure on. Say for instance I’m looking at the engine compartment diagram and I see the G2-20V wire from the bulkhead cavity 21 to the temperature sending unit. In the...
