YAY!
Thought I’d give a progress report. I just received a tracking number from UPS on Legendary’s behalf. The label is printed and is waiting for pickup.
I’m excited, it’s been a long wait. :)
Just curious on what everyone’s wait time has been? I ordered ‘69 RR standard (MX2) interior panels and seat upholstery On 3/13/2021. Was informed the wait time was five and half to six months. I emailed 3-4 weeks ago and got a one line response, “This order is scheduled to be completed by...
Just an update:
After visiting 440 Source’s website and getting educated on dampers, I can confirm that my ‘70 440 HP has the “six pack” rods as R/T Boy 67 posted.
The only bad thing about going to 440 Source website, is now I’m drooling to build a stroker.
Thanks for the info. Now that I know there’s not a 11” flywheel for this motor out on the market, I’ll re-evaluate the situation and decide what to do. More than likely I will set this motor aside for another project or sell it. :)
That’s kinda what I want to know.
Now the question is where how can I get a 11” flywheel for a ‘70 440 HP? For that matter, I have not been able to find info for even the 10.5” balanced flywheel that came with the 440HP. I don’t believe the 72 and later 440 cast crank flywheels use the same...
No you’re not wrong. And I knew this. I tried to submit my question as clear and best I could. I failed, lol.
I have both, a 72 B body 4-speed and a 69 B body 4-speed 383/383 respectively, with the correct factory trans equipment (The ‘72 = 10.5” flywheel with 10.95” scalloped...
Do all 70 440s have six pack rods? Do these use, a special unbalanced dampner or flywheel (or both), or do they use the neutral balanced dampner flywheel?
Info is all over the place on this. I see where there’s a six pack dampner at times, but nothing specifically for the flywheel on with...
Where can I find a complete list of codes used on the B and RB ID Pad ?
I found one but it doesn’t have anything listed for the stamped sideways “C” on my ‘68 440. Anyone know what it stands for?
Also, I have what looks like an upside-down and also a sideways “A” on my ‘70 440 ID pad. I...
I don’t know, but if you need something from Legendary you better get you order in now... six month plus wait time for most all mopar seat covers and door panels.
When I first seen it I thought it was a ‘74 because of that stripe. Never have liked that style stripe on the Chargers... it reminds me of Ferd Torino’s for some reason... and it seems like that stripe is always on the ‘74s.
That hood looks to be a ‘73 hood to me. But you know how it is with...
Thanks! It does have the 10” rear drums and front disk brakes and sway bar.
The one thing that puzzles me is it came with the 400HP and a 4 speed, but only had the one wheel wonder?? Weird for being a Charger SE I would think. Even my 75 318 4-speed Dart came with a sure-grip in the 8 1/4...
Yes it does, but doesn’t say anything about gear ratio or if it came with a sure grip. I knew it was originally a 400HP w/steel crank, and a 4-speed. I was also curious if there was a chart for those 3 digit codes like there is for the VIN and Fender Tags.
On the 4th line of my build sheet from a 72 Charger, it lists 3 and 2 digit codes that correspond to engine (805), carb (38), trans (864), axel (042), etc.. while I know what engine/trans it was built with, I would like to know if it originally came with a sure-grip and what the original gear...
