Freshly machined block, line honed. Installed ARP Main studs. On the #3 bearing journal, the alignment tab is off a bit, the engine side is almost as much off. The bearings are Mahle. Should I machine the tab, contact 440 source and see if they can exchange them? Has anyone ran into this before?
B deck motor, am building 512 stroker (block still at machinist). I have an old, but nice dual plane weiand 4bbl. Manifold that i cerkoted. Plan on AED 850 carb. Wouldn't mind getting single plane intake, but concerned about clearance. I don't really want hood scoop, but will if mandatory...

On Scott's speed shop he made reference to a shortened input shaft transmission for a 400. My 64 Sport Fury once had a 383-4speed. It now has a 440-4speed. I'm building a 512 stroker 400 to put in it instead. It's an 833, not sure how many spline yet, I haven't pulled it apart yet. Using a 440...
Good to know. I'll build it myself, though. Leaning towards 440 source, and will spec the parts for sure. Thank you for the input, I value all opinions greatly.
