I have a fiberglass front bumper and reduced the weight of the bumper mounts by about 70%. Before and after pixs plus a pix of the metal removed. This was on my 66 Coronet, not my Duster.
I am well and racing in Illinois, Missouri and Indiana with my 1971 Duster. All 1/8 mile here. Car runs consistant 6.05's @ 112. Best time was 5.95@114
The crossram is costing you at least 40+HP. Put the single plane indy intake on and borrow beg or steal a good 1050 Dominator and you will pick up probably 3 tenths. I have been there and done just that. Take my word for it. Or stick with the crossram and never go in the 10s with your current...
I used 440 Source Main Caps plus their Girdle on my 505" in my 66 Coronet, over 150 runs AND 10.04 at 130.51. No problems. I sold it to a fellow in Denmark several years ago and he has been driving it to car shows, etc for years with no iissues.
Being delivered this coming friday by Reliable.

I don't think it is a starter issue (of getting hot).
Power Master Tech says make sure you starter has a good ground
So.. I ran a 1...
I had the motor hanging by a chain on a roll away hoist (cherry picker). I pushed the motor back until the supporting chain actually hit the windshield. I then welded up some motor mounts on the frame rails at that point and a rear transmission crossmember mount.
I had already altered the rear...
Axle not Axel....lol
I posted a couple pixs of my straight axle installation (done in 1967).
I ordered the tube front straight axle from a company named CAE who primarily supplied front axles for sprint cars, etc.
It was NOT an I-BEAM front axle out of an A-100 Dodge Pickup.
I ordered it set up...
I sold this car to a guy in Burlington VT around 1969 and never saw or heard about since. Any body up in the North East remember seeing this car ?
Let me know.
My hood and pin setup on my old Coronet. It was a hinged hood. The rear pins were dummies for looks only. I made a simple air dam around the rear of the carb which directed air into the carb after it entered the scoop. I liked the look of the the 4 pins in front though maybe not necessary. Hood...
