@ super77se, You are right. It seems the '70 and up covers have the timing marks on the driverside.
In my case there is a sheetmetal scale attached under a bolt head at the passengerside. Opposite to the lower water inlet.
'70 and up are the only covers that are reproduced. So I will use that...
Hi all,
I want to buy a new timingcover for my '67 318cui. I see that Mopar Performance (P5249930) and Dorman make one. The Dorman (635-400) is for '70 and up 318's.
So now my question, can I use this timingcover from Dorman? The only difference I know of is, in 1970 they changed the waterpump...
I came across this article:
"318 engine build - a parts book 400hp 318"
http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/techarticles/mopp_0409_318_engine_build/index.html
I think it's a very nice build. They use off-the-shelf, readily available parts. No excessive machining. Apart from the usual boring...
I don't think the bushing should be welded in. They are pressed in into the upper control arm. Although I have a '67, they are the same, I think.
PU bushings improve cornering. Although I think you should take a normal rubber bush for the lower control arm. If not, you should buy a new pivot...
Hi midnightrider,
All alternators have an output curve that increases with rpm. In other words, your alternator can not provide as many amps at idle as it can at higher speeds.
If your car demands more power than the alternator can supply at idle, the remaining amps must come from the battery...
Thanks all!
Sorry for the late response.
I've reconnected all hoses as original. apart from the U-shaped hose, I've made my own from copper pipe and some hoses.
@ Cranky, the waterpump output is the one on the intake. (see image)
(A) is output and (B) is input. Atleast that's what i am...
Hi All,
I have a problem, I've discarded my a/c from my 67 coronet, but now I don't know how to reconnect the hoses.
See pic to make things clear.
The problem is (C), according to the shopmanual it's called a water valve.
But what does this valve, is it necessary for your heater?
Non a/c cars...
Yes it's strange. My pivot-shaft doesn't have a hole for a cotter pin either.
Although the shopmanual refers to it :confused1:
Maybe it doesn't need a cotter pin, because you have to torque the pivot-shaft nut with 130 ft-lb AND as long as there is tension on the torsion bar, the pivot-shaft &...
I've done this on my 67 coronet and it's not possible to press them in too far, if you do it right.
First, the pivot shaft must be pressed into the bushing. The pivot shaft/bushing assembly is then pressed into the control arm.
Use a piece of pipe to apply pressure on the flange of...
Hi all,
After lurking here for a couple of months, it's time to become a official FBBO member :).
I must say, i have read a couple of very useful threads. Most about rebuilding front suspension and steering.
I am now in the process of rebuilding my 67 coronets front.
Oh yeah, I live in The...
