It might seem like a dumb location, but the battery wasn't subjected to the constant heating and cooling cycles that a battery out in the engine compartment is, that is probably why it lasted so long. My wife's Challenger battery lasted 14 years, probably because it is mounted in the trunk.

-Inspect the plastic body for cracks.
-Inspect the glue on the wells, put some gas in the plastic...

I’m about to remove Inland transmission shift arms and rods on my 66 Satellite to replace with Hurst units. My car has a Hurst shifter but they used Inland arms and rods. But, if it fits your car/transmission may depend on what tailhousing you are using. My shifter mount is pretty far forward...
Yes. Not a ground issue since each bulb shares the ground.
Unless every bulb has a bad ground since you say none work and it's a very strange situation.
According to these prints I drew up when building one of these cars there is a resistance connection somewhere in that circuit.
