    Aluminum heads

For out of the Box bolt on, I'd say the Trick Flow heads as they are CNC ported (flow as advertised out of the box) and come with a selection of springs / retainers that you can select to usually match your cam. Just about all will need the reduce wrenching head bolt kit. I don't know about...

512 engine build - 18 months and counting, advice how to tackle this please

440 Source has done a good job keeping TF heads in stock. That's where I bought mine in 2021....when nobody else could seem to get them. They've got some in stock now as well.

    440 Head Gasket Advice

New to the forum and new to Mopar. Purchased a 74 Charger about a year ago as a father/son project. Built a 440 to a 512 stroker with 440 source components. No racing just street stuff on pump gas but it did get hot a few times while working to get the cooling right. It is a stock 440 block...

    2 cylinders destroyed

...motor home engine tomorrow and try this again. My plan for the MH engine is to pull the pistons, replace the rings and open the gaps. Probably going to use 440 source heads with ARP bolts and cometic head gaskets. And a single plane intake. There's an M1 on FABO, and a Street Dominator locally.

Trick flow 240 Heads with Factory Six Barrel Intake

...Feeling super conflicted on this build. The car mostly goes to shows but when I want lots of power I want it to be there. The 440 Source heads look just like factory but I don't want to buy them just to turn right around and have to get a valve job (guys on this site report that). We built...

    Valve pushrod length

Thats what I would be looking at. On a 3/8 fine adjuster one turn is about .041 preload and you are near 2 1/2 turns with 9.300 length push rods.

440 Source vs Hughes stroker kit

your stall is good "depending on ur cam" . I run a Hugh's 505 stroker "race balanced " , "by them " it raps like a sbc , its a .600 lift solid roller , cnc ported Edelbrock Victor knock offs , cleaned up and matched victor intake , to match even a bit further head work , changed keepers and...

Carb sputtering on six barrell engine

Power valve in center carb may be contributing. Diaphragm may be hardened from age. Passages plugged. If you are going to take carb apart order non stick blue gaskets along with new power valve.

440 Source Stealth CNC vs Trick Flow

Anyone have any experience with the super stealth (CNC) heads? I’m kind of set on the Trick flow 240/270 heads, but I saw these are in stock. I gather that the chamber design and spark plug angle are still a good bit better on the Trick flows. They are priced at almost the same as trick flows...

440 head gasket diameter for 0.040 bore?

The important aspect of head gasket bore size selection tyoically osn't the block bore size but the cylinder head chamber. As a for instance 440 source stealth heads require a 4.410" minimum bore head gasket in my experience.

383 stroker - ex race car motor, will it blow on the street

OK, about 2010 I bought a 383 on Craigslist for 350 bucks. When I got there the guy told me more about the motor, that his dad had built for some kind of stock car or roundy- round class that he had in a 67 coronet. It was an old school offset ground steel crank stroker with Chevy rods and...
