Thanks. Do you know where the smaller valve would be added? There is another smaller “block” just down on the frame rail that the front line ties to then the rear line runs off of it. Is that what you are referring to?
It is a safety valve. Most call it proportioning. Me included. The valve you have is used in the drum/disc configuration. On the drum/disc another smaller vale was added and it is the actual proportioning valve.
mine was for a 19 spline not sure if that makes a difference. they might have beef yours up more for racing. was it PTC out of Alabama there are different PTC converters one out of Texas.

That is a pressure differential valve. It has nothing to do with rear brake proportioning. If that is the only valve in your brake system then it is a drum brake car. I know you had a drum brake master cyl., so it all makes sense.
