There is no way I would even try to save that block. When I have a nasty block like that I just use a cutting torch on the connecting rods and cut the beams in half.
Easiest way to remove the crankshaft on one that bad.

patching the bottoms of the wheel houses is pretty common, but this one also had crap in the hinge brackets........ I love new metal :thankyou:
I'll split those hinge brackets at the seam also, and get em cleaned up

To answer a couple questions:
I learned a long time ago to test fit trim before final installation. Thats why you see it in place.
And the dash is as complete of a unit as possible. Only thing missing on the top side is the dash pad...
I think it’s more that he glamorized or made the ratty thing more acceptable to many. Before he had the cheap thrills series I was already driving VWs in similar condition, I was glad to see the article because I was sick of people asking when I would make my cars look nice and hoped it signaled...
Driver for me. Last two cars (late model Challengers) I had with perfect or close to perfect paint had one unfortunate incident after another and I obsessed over it. The type of car figures in to what I want, but a ratty primered old mopar looks good to me. Think Roadkill without the ridiculous...
This will be my toughest challenge yet. Everything is El on this car. All switches, dash, clock, buttons, but different than the first gen. Everything is el rods everywhere. Very delicate, nothing reproduced, Everything must be restored very hard to find replacement anything.
