Fun Facts About ‘Blazing Saddles Blazing Saddles could have starred Richard Pryor. It was originally going to be titled Tex X. John Wayne politely declined an offer to appear in Blazing Saddles. Blazing Saddles was the first movie to incorporate audible flatulence. Singer Lili von Shtupp was...

Purchased a new Moog tie rod today

Pro Forged is one of the better ones out there theses days in my opinion. However, their rubber boots suck on the tie rod ends. All four tore out at ~500 miles on a resent build. Replaced with Prothane boots. Not a problem since.

    Valve seals

Myself I normally did not use them. Like I said they are guide and stem size specific. So you need to measure. Plus some of them require the guides to be machined. With that being said I commonly used 16 of the same umbrella seals.

    Shifter style preference

Interested in all opinions & hardware FMJ, especially yours. I did notice from pictures in the “Elephant” thread that it looked as though you were shifting one of the worlds baddest 65 Dodges with a column shifter, and found myself musing at the irony. The reason I really asked was that that...

    If I have a car that’s a survivor

I have original tubes and seals, but the cables themselves were replaced starting in 70. Everything is logged. I have one original blue streak tire. Past owner maintained it quite a bit. When he drove it most: 69 to about 73, he had tuneups every 3- 4 months. Mine has 100% original paint and...

    Valve seals

I will be checking all the sizes on Friday. Valve stem is 3/8, and that is the listed size for tne S2888. Are you suggesting the non spring seals may be more desirable?

    Helping the next generation.

Hi fellas, For some time now I have been selling economically or giving parts to other members here. I'm getting older and realize I can't build everything I dreamed of so, the part divesture. I recently sent off a steering column to a member for his grandsons' restoration and received this...

What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

That's why I love mine so much. No matter what I throw at it, I can't possibly kill it. It is so under-worked in this chassis, it'll live forever...and do anything I could ever ask without breaking a sweat.

Des Moines takes its name from Fort Des Moines (1843–46), which was named for the Des Moines River. This was adopted from the name given by French colonists. Des Moines (pronounced [de mwan]; formerly [de mwɛn]) translates literally to either "from the monks" or "of the monks"

    Garage /shop layout

Sounds like a well executed plan, isn't it crazy though as you have more space you end up with more cars, parts and what not to fill it.

I’ve been in the trucking industry for 46 years, a Cummins is overkill for what I plan to do with the truck. It will be a goin’ to town rig 99% of the time.

    1966-67 BBody Glass

Yes there were different corners. I don’t know when the change happened. Our January Friday 13th Charger has the straight cut. Some of the 66 bodies we have the curve. Probably has something to do with the top seal of the vent window corner. You might want to ask DMT or another supplier of...
