I’m open to the newer technologies over welding when it makes life easier and the risk is low, but on something that looks structural and has easy access for welding then welding it is for me.
If the OP is the same guy that was making 3D printed hood turn signal lenses for the 68-70 Chargers, I'd trust his work. I bought 2 pair of the hood turn signals and installed one pair in the red car.
Those GM modules don't fail due to heat like the Ford TFI modules, unless you're using the cheapest China module you can find. The way this unit is built has more venting than the original mounting in a HEI distributor.
