What is the most likely place for an axle to fail? Splines, lug studs, middle of the axle? Nothing i have would ever make that much power so just curious.

I like the other ideas but you need perfect backspacing on the wheels to run a 275 on the rears. 66/67 has a really narrow wheel well.

This would make a great experiment if someone took this axle and another without a knick and had a way to measure the amount of twist it took to shear them off. I bet there woudln't be much difference. Paging @RJRENTON :lol:

What's the oldest date code on a new tires you guys would accept? I'm curious because i ordered a set of tires yesterday from an online retailer. If they're too old i'll send them back but how old is too old?

You also need a 4 speed console shift handle with the dog leg in it. Non console 4 speed shift handle doesn't have that.

You can probably cut the plastic on auto console to match a 4 speed console. You'll also need the plastic or fiberglass cover that goes over the 4 speed hump. You'll also need to modify the top plate that has a large opening for the 4 speed boot...

You might be able to find a spring and bushings that fit from mcmaster-carr if you can take some measurements with a caliper. I had my console shifter apart not long ago but i didn't measure the spring or bushing sizes. Bushings...
