I just installed this throttle cable which is 20" long on a 1967 plymouth 383. Does it look right? It looks too long to me. There is no binding and the pedal seems to work properly. Comments please. Thanks as always.
tomorrows the day. I just went out and purchased a cheap set of sockets. We're going to grind the OD down to fit the hole and see what happens. We're going to start with a 1/2" and go from there. Hopefully some size will work. Will post updates.
did that. By the time I got the OD to fit, it broke through. I just went out and purchased a cheap set of sockets. We're going to grind the OD down to fit the hole and see what happens. We're going to start with a 1/2" and go from there. Hopefully some size will work. Will post updates.

Thats my next step. I just found out I will need a throttle cable mounting bracket for a 383-4V automatic. Right now I only have the retaining clip and nut. Not sure where I can get one. The hunt starts later today.
1967 plymouth satellite, 383 4V automatic. Can any one verify if this linkage setup is correct. I had to change the throttle cable, and carburetor stud as what was on the car was a totally different and incorrect setup. I just want to make sure it's correct. Thanks in advance.
No. I did that, to tough to get to. I did grind a socket but it's such a tight fit that the socket broke when trying to loosen it. There is very little room for error in getting the od correct on the socket that's why I want to machine turn it. I don't have a lathe so I need to take it...
I have the correct sleeve nuts or extended nuts (3) but I can't get the nuts that are on the studs off. Someone put a 9/16" hex nut on the (3) studs. That's why I need the exact diameter of the hole so I can turn down a socket to get in there. I believe the hole size to be .640"
