These alternators are NOT internally regulated. The PCM on the firewall controls voltage regulation. If you don’t have a faulty alternator, the PCM could be the problem. There’s a better temperature sensor involved as well.

I agree with all of the troubleshooting notes, but it sure is hard to beat the Dakota Digital RTX cluster, both standard and Rallye. The additional display in the speedometer and a voltmeter are some basic bonuses.
