I have a 727 im going to attempt my first trans rebuild. It's a mid 80s 727. I know about the book for it. My questions for now are what's a good kit for my rebuild and a good valve body. Also my cooler lines are broke? Off im not quite sure. Thanks for your input!
It had a 318 and 904. The trans quit and I sold the motor to a friend who needed it for a car he was restoring. I sold the motor and trans as a combo. I wish I would have pulled the parts off it I needed but didn't happen. I know the drive shaft will need to be shortend (I have a local shop...
I have a 72 satellite. I have a late 70s truck 318 picked up from a friend. And a early 80s 727 I got from the junk yard. Im going to the junkyard this weekend I know I need a car pick up tube and oil pan. (I know the pick up tube I should and i will buy new) I don't know what I'm looking for as...
Well in the end I want to make it a auto course styled car. I would live 500 wheel horse but 350 whp is more realistic for my budget and wanting to keep it's 318. There's nothing really wrong with it I mean it shifts awesomely and feels strong but I would like to be "hard" on it and know that my...
I have a 72 satellite with a 318 and 904, i would like to put a 727 in it. First off how hard is the swap? Second witch is better tci or b&m. Third would it be more cost effective to get a used 727 and have a local shop rebuild it or even take a stab at it myself. I'm kinda stumped and need...
I had the cooler completely unhooked and nothing came out I figured it was empty it took 6qts altogether. But it only slipped when it leaked its odd because now it has no problems but I for sure don't trust it
So before I yank my trans out is there a posibitly I could blow the metal lines out and put a new filter in it and see if continues having problems to avoid pulling the trans???
About a year ago i bought a police 318 from a coworker. He clamed it to be stroked and bored at 11 to 1 compression it also has j head but he called them 340 rat heads (I've never heard of such heads) it also has a portmatched offenhouser intake. He clamed it made 500 wheel horse but that seems...
When I filled the trans fluid I put an entire bottle of lucas trans fix in it and it had 0 problems untill now. I'm going to pull it and see the state of the front seal and go from there thanks again
Well if I pull the trans I would like to have the peace of mind and get a built trans and put another motor in the car that makes more power. How ever If the seal went bad and that's all I may just drive it like it is i don't know I'm torn.
So I just finished getting my car all fixed up to hit the road after her 25ish year slumber. I put brand new trans fluid in and an new external trans cooler. As well new hoses. Today is the second day I've been driving it and then all the sudden it doesn't wanna move. It slipped bad but I got it...
