Thanks Coronet that makes sense I checked the throttle lever out again last night and I can move it effortlessly in any position so something definetly broke inside. If the lever cam is busted do you know where I find a replacement? Thanks again.
Yea somethings broken for sure. I read another forum that there's a arm that's welded on the bottom of the shaft in the valve body that can break off. Found a couple of rebuilt valve bodies on ebay I'm going to check out.
I recenlty installed a Hurst shifter in my 72 Satellite a couple of weeks ago and I had to remove the throttle lever in order to change the shift select lever and thought that my kickdown was just out of adjustment. I remember when prying the lever off the shaft that the shaft moved up wtf? I'm...
Got it fixed I found 1 more bad connection from the steering wheel coupler connector. Also cleaned the bulkhead connector with a wire brush & contact cleaner and then packed all 3 connectors with lots of die-electric grease :icon_thumright: Electrical problems are gone :D
Thanks guys you were right bulkhead connector needed a good cleaning. Also I had a bad connector on the altenator gauge :) Going back out to blast some Van Halen :D
Got most things working again :) loose connections at bulkhead & at ammeter gauge. Now the only thing not working is ignition I can get it to crank over at the starter relay switch but won't start?
I feel your pain.. I just experienced the same problem after installing a new Pioneer stereo in my 72 Satellite today. I drove it around for about half the day blasting Van Halen and after I got home everything quit working :( I didn't realize this post was so old :( Hopefully you found the...
Thanks Wagun. I'll check out the starter relay I think your right I just really hope the fusible link isn't fried :( I hate dealing with anything electrical that was the main reason why I let a shop install the Pioneer. Installers didn't disconnect the battery and I already checked my battery...
Just finished the interior on my Satellite yesterday and to celebrate I got a new Pioneer stereo installed at a local stereo shop. A little later that day after I got home I noticed the stereo started to blink on & off and now nothing works :( No lights, ignition, nothing works now :( I checked...
I got mine through Roseville Moparts. Best thing I ever did for my old Plymouth I can actually close my door with 1 finger now instead of using both hands.
Thats awesome I got the AMD hinges as well. I'm glad now I ended up buying both top & bottom hinges my door hasn't shut this good in years :) + only took a couple of hours . I didn't realize how bad my lower hinge was until I took it out it was not only missing the stopper & spring but was also...
I've been looking myself for some 71-74 kits with no luck. I even tried ebay but all the have are 66-70 kits. The uppers are ok but I couldn't find any pins for the bottom hinge so I finally just bought a set of repops for the driver side door.
I agree with BuckNeccid post if you feel like cloning your car go for it as long as your not trying to sell it as a real Runner or GTX. I have a 72 Satellite that I was going to clone when I got it about 8 years ago but I'm having second thoughts now because the car is just starting to look...
I got lucky, I ordered a set of their seat covers & luckily got them to fit ok but it took some work. A friend traded me his front bucket seats out of his 72 Sebring Plus for a couple of aftermarket racing seats I used to have. Now I know why he was so eager to trade I don't think these are orig...
