I run 18's/17's on my charger. 17x8 front with 4.5" backspace, 18x9.5 rear with 5.5" backspace. These are cheap coys wheels and that was the backspace offered... no customize. works very well for my car. I realize you are going 20's but the widths are close.
My original OE turn signal lenses have black around them. They currently reside in a box in my garage. I have new ones that are all orange and no decals in the hood depressions.
If you want new, just call quick performance and have them make one. Used ones that people say are good which may or may not be seem to command 5/600 on up if it has a suregrip. I had Quick make me a 3.23 489 case with tru trac for $1300.00. It was more money, but it's got all new stuff in it.
Spent the whole day on it. Running better. It’s not winning any drag races but it’s pretty good. It has the eddy 1406 on it, not the 1407, so it’s def not overcarbed. Found a small vacuum leak which I took care of by tightening one of the carb nits which was hand tight.
Adjusted the kick...
Not yet. Needs a serious tuneup. Starts with tap of the key and idles smooth as silk, but it’s breaking up under load. It got better after fuel filter change and can if seafoam in the tank but still not right.
It looks to have an Edelbrock 1407 on it. I’m pretty sure this is a smogger 460...
A little stop off at the Oriellys to buy a fire extinguisher and fuel filter. Then to the ferry.. My brother-in-law piloted the GMC CHASE vehicle….then home
Picked it up today. Bought Sight unseen…. Filled the oil, checked the gas and went full send 4 hours to the cross sound ferry, then another hour and a half to my house.
I’m gonna drive it home 4 hours on sat. Haven’t even seen it in person yet. Among the dumber things I’ve signed up for. I’ll let you know after how “wow” the 460 is lol
460 auto on the column, bench seat. It’s already got power front discs and power steering. 8” rear with drums out back. Clearly it was not delivered this way and I wanted a bone stock truck but these mods are stock-ish.
what I’m thinking is exactly what you are saying. Hold the engine up with a beam across shock towers. I’ve seen this done in a couple of you tube videos of this swap. Back car into lift up to rear of kframe. Tie down rear end with chain/HD straps. This all taking place at work and I have a...
Still haven't installed it.. running out of gas, I'm gettin freakin old lol. prob now a winter project. I have a lift in my shop and heat so it's not so bad.
trying to work out a way to do this out the bottom with a 4 post lift. Rollin's pic has me a little rejuvinated though. I did get 2"...
I have front and rear dr diff kits. Rear is on the car, fronts will be done in a month or so- he answers questions very fast and is good to deal with. The fact that anyone even has to ask if scarebird is still in business would take them off my list.
As a pre-teen, When I was being a “skoootch,” my mom would always say “I’ll crown you, Charlie”
I’d retort with “then I’d be king” and run away.
In a related story, my name is NOT Charlie.
In my 20’s I worked for an older guy. When I’d F up, he’d say “ I buy you books, I send you to...
I removed mine from the junction in front of axle, leaving both cables in their respective drum backing plates. Then I sold the brakes to someone else and put rear discs on. Probably the road less traveled but it’s one way to go lol. Seriously, I couldn’t get that **** out of there and I...
Mine came with a tig welded nut in each side tank. They had a bar going across to support the fans. I put bolts in deez nutz to secure my shroud down low and wedged it under n aluminum trim piece up high.
If your rad has nothing, I’d use gm style clamshell mounts top and bottom for shroud...
I have the bouchillon kit and although I put it on over 10 years ago, I don’t remember changing a lever on the trans. My ‘68 727 shifts ok but the shift points have never been great and I also have the issue when manually shifting from 1-2 at WOT, I have to lift throttle slightly or it stays in...
