CAR IS GONE STOP PMING ME!!!
Well since nobody can read the previous post can I get a Mod to please delete this thread? Car has been gone as a whole since August - replaced it with a BMW 535i.
OKay - Officially parting it out now. Had 2 fall throughs on whole takers.
Can I get a mod to change the title to parts out please - thanks.
Going to take me a day or so to get everything squared a way and more pictures taken. I'm going through my PMs now and making a list. Expect responses...
In light of recent "Server Issues" I ask that anyone who has sent me a PM on this please resend it. The two that I did have are gone and I have two pending but cant seem to get to them. If thet car does not go as a whole by sometime mid week next week (may 8th-sih) I'll start parting it out...
Stock 1971 Charger 318 automatic - 153,*** miles
Okay so the car has reached that point where I'm SEVERELY out of my league. $1500 Takes the whole car, but more than likely I'll start parting it out. Main reason for sale is The shell is shot - If a die hard enthusiast wants to take it on be my...
You go to shows and see DOZENS of Mustangs, Camaros/Chevelles, etc. Chargers seem to be the '69/'70 model year and if there's 10 in one show at least half are General Lee knock-offs. '71 - '74s are something of a rare breed.
I do miss my '70 Mustang and this Charger has really grown on me but...
I got my little Clarke Turbo 100EN at a swap meet on the cheap and cheap. I think it was $100 or $130 used. Works fine and does both gas or flux core wire.

1970 Boss 302 in Grabber Orange
I came close as I had '70 Grande coupe, but I got rid of it in favor of the '71 Charger I have now. Some PO really screwed that car up and it was becoming too much of a nightmare to fix. :(
could do some plumbing and tee off of the factory temp sender - it's up front to the left side.
'71 318, this is upside down from the way you'd be looking at it but it's that little nub to the right of the one heater hose connection.
Update:
I'll add more pics tomorrow but for now verbally speaking I've uncovered a few new things tonight:
-Score marks on several of the piston bearings with a nice copper color on them
-Cylinders 2 and 6 had split rings - they came out in multiple pieces
-Cylinder 8's lower compression ring...
Motor got pulled and is in for a rebuild/upgrade. I'm not liking the looks of things thus far:
Passenger side vavles are brown and have something on them
Camshaft lobe edges are super rough / chipped
Oil sludge caked on everthing
Lifters were stuck in the block had to work on them to get them...
IF CARS WERE BUILT LIKE COMPUTERS:
At a recent computer expo, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated. "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that get 1,000 miles to the gallon."

Starting prepping the engine for removal. This thing has got to come out and get rebuilt - it's been neglected for too long. Found some nastiness yesterday when I decided to start poking at it.

Old thread....
Started tearing into the engine today - Prognosis is not good. Sludge on the rockers and an unidentifiable gooey mess in the upper radiator hose. =(
