Four Shepherds... Nice herd.
Captain is I believe my 7th Shepherd. I got a Shepherd Collie mix when I was in highschool and have had nothing but Shepherds until Frank rehomed himself here.

Frank is good with mellow cats, but avoids the obnoxious ones. Pretty much my opinion as well... I like the dog natured cats. The remaining 80% ; not a huge fan.
Please disregard the tranny fluid box... These pictures are from a few years ago... : )
My Shepherd has a cat that follows him everywhere. Feral Floyd was just footprints in the snow last winter. I started putting out food on a plant stand on the porch and after about 6 weeks I started seeing this orange cat. He was 3/4 grown and completely wild. He made friends with the dogs...
My Shepherd goes after sticks so crazy that I don't let kids or idiots throw sticks for him. He could catch a longer stick in the chest with the other end jammed into the ground pretty easy.
He has gotten open wounds above an eye twice and a big groove down his ribs from equipment and a truck...
I drive over 30 miles one way to go to a decent vet. I've had bad experiences with the nearby vet clinics.
The last one was completely run and staffed by women. It's been my experience when this is the case, the controlling btchs in the group have to change everything that makes sense and...
Frank has a very southern accent. He doesn't bark often, but it's a distinctive wo-ooof, or baying when he trees something. The trait I have never seen in a dog before is how he runs full, or near full speed through tight places. When the dogs are chasing each other, Frank will run full speed...
Frank rehomed himself here. I called the local PD for the dog catcher, the humane society and a couple of vets. After 2 weeks my niece that worked at one of the vet clinics called me and said she had a lady come in for horse meds and told her to take the Catahoula off their pet list, as he...
Had an incident with my Catahoula one late night. I take the dogs out just before I go to bed. There was a huge racket and a long Yelp from Frank. I yelled and my Shepherd came right to me. Frank kept fighting something making loud hideous noises. I ran inside and grabbed my Fox side by side...
Some crazy answers and suggestions here. Just go to the fundamentals.
If it was off a tooth on the timing chain the timing would be way advanced just to make it run. If you don't have a good timing light, put the balancer about 8° BTDC and check the reluctor. If it's not really close to the bar...
Thank you...
That is really close to what I tried to get through Crower. They later called back and said they couldn't grind smaller than a .450" lobe and then shortened the duration which would make the ramps even steeper.
My block does not have bushed lifter bores, so I do want to check the...
Starting in '81 the tops were no longer removable. Added a couple pictures. Note the buckled fender and missing moulding on the close Ramcharger picture... The far picture has a 12-15' cedar tree on top of the river bank. A couple of highschool kids said I was higher than that tree when I ramped...
Got my '68 300 when I was 13 a '70 Runner at 14, a '69 Runner at 15 etc, etc.
Had a '66 Hemi Belvedere II in the late 80's and sold it when I gave up trying to find a block... 5 years later they started reproducing them.
Worked in a body shop for 16 years and build my own projects. I have been...
I have several vehicles to build in various ways. This 572 Hemi needs to run good for what it is. I certainly am not worried about a rough idle and I want it to have enough duration to pull peak power near 6,000 RPM.
The 493 with 259°/267° peaked at 5,800. Long strokes take a lot of duration...
Greatly appreciate all the input... Thanks
I have had my '70 Runner since I was 21 and had a different '70 when I was 14 and a '69 I still have that I got when I was 15. These cars have some serious Imprinting on me in much less stressful times in the late '80s. I had a lot of great times in my...
Would appreciate some input from those with experience on running a solid roller in a Gen II Hemi.
Have been hearing horror stories on flat tappets wiping off lobes, even with the oil through lifters, supposed racing oil with good zinc levels, additives etc.
I thought I could avoid problems...
