Just cruising home last night and the engine started to ticking. What’s funny is before this happened I had just talked to the guys from Indy and Keith Black about building a 572 and they both said throw the hydraulic rollers away after I talked about using some of my top end.

Better get the covers off and see whats going on. What rockers? Maybe an adjuster screw is loose?

Just got to drivers side off. Tell me what you think. 1.6 Mancini‘s. Trick flow hydraulic rollers, which I think are morels. I built this engine in 17 and and doesn’t have a lot of miles on it

Either the hyd portion is collapsed? Or more likely the roller wheel experienced a failure

Dam, not good. Hope the engine is still good.

Passenger side is off and it’s good and BTW I absolutely suck at top ends. Definitely going to need a walk through lol.

They are Trick Flow heads
If the valve heights are good, rocker roller wheel good/ no cracks, try rolling it over so both lobes are on base circle , and see if the pushrod heights are the same. ( after the intake pushrod is fully down)

That stinks. I remember you posting when you first got the car done. Really turned out nice.
Also..good idea to look into the oil filter and see what is in it if you've had a failure. Best case scenario is a collapsed lifter. The BB intakes are easy to pull since no water jacket compared to almost every other engine design.

Thanks! The only thing sucks about it is unhooking all of this Efi harness crap lol I’ll be jerking the intake off in a few minutes.

Well the passenger side wasn’t good either and I’m missing a piece of metal. Cams junk and who knows what else. Drivers first with pics and then passenger side. I knew it sounded loud on both sides. Would a lifter bore issue cause this or are these hydraulic rollers just junk in these big blocks?
