There is so much BS information that goes around, but....Gas In Iowa is below $3.00 per gallon. It may be because corn used to make ethanol is priced at below production cost. WOW now maybe food prices will dramatically decrease!!! YEAH-----RRRIIIGGGHHHHTTT......................................MO

A refinery is being built here in ND, Some is sent across the border to Canada to mix with lower grade sand oil. Some probably is being sent overseas, but cant say for sure. So much has changed here in the last 8 years. Amtrack runs around 8 hrs behind everyday due to oil trains that are coming or going every 24hrs. More of the 575,000 bbl tanks and some massive 825,000 bbl tanks are popping up. 100 car trains are everywhere, pipelines are trenched in going who knows where. Predictions of the production show it trippling in size before its all over. It truly is a sight to see.

I know, I had some survey crews working up that way this summer. Had a hell of a time finding hotel rooms.

Housing has cooled a bit from a few years ago, as hotels and trailer parks have sprung up in the middle of fields. Were in the rental game, and keep an eye on it. Its getting oversaturated (currently) and housing can be had, the closer you get to Williston, and Watford the tougher and more expensive it gets, surrounding communities have more availbility. The riff-raff (as we call it) leaves in the winter. Im thinking I want to become some of that riff raff soon.:sunny:

Gas prices are always lower right before an election. By mid November...back where they were, if not higher.

Election year BS

:iamwithstupid: Hell gas is still $3.69 for Shell self serve reg. unleaded here,
{it's better than the $4.39 a gallon crap last year},
diesel is even more like $3.79, we always have a little higher prices here in the hills too...
Might be slightly cheaper in the bigshitty...
But it's also Commie-libiots wonderland, tax & spend Moonbeam Progressive as a Gov.
& we have more taxes on our fuel here too,
helping to bankrupt/fleece all our native Californians, makes it hard
living in the foothills/mountains, valley or the bigshitty...

There supposedly also has been a growth of oil output here in the Southern Valley too,
Bakersfield, Taft & Fresno areas...
I can't say for fact thou...

My Chevron, Shell, BP & other energy/oil co. stocks is/are relatively doing well,
Chevron always does well, good dividends...

Glad to see the Dakotas {& Texas} doing very well, good for them...
I'm also glad to see we have a domestic oil boom too,
despite the fed.'s regulations, the WH hatred for the oil/energy companies growth...

The more the better in my eyes...

HA! Y'all wish. Seriously though, I think the biggest problem up there is the lack of workers. The applicant pool is massive here. The biggest play in Texas right now is 1 hour south of San Antonio. Well over a million people in the greater metro. Houston is 2 hours from the Eagle Ford. Dallas is 4 or 5 hours.
And how many of those are legal?

All of us. The oil companies require very safe, very reputable records to have contracts with them. To be hired with us, there is a 7 year FBI background check. Plus CDL with HazMat (requires fingerprinting every few year). The oil field is a lot different now days. Violent felons no longer drill.

You can thank all the big money even in a terrible economy for pushing out the riff-raff.

Large oil companies ARE very safe along with most larger company drivers (and HAZMAT), however small drilling companies, some owner operators (salt and freshwater) DO hire x-cons, at least around here. Also alot of the supporting industries will hire x-cons as well. The job listings here in ND has alot of demand, many just want a warm body to fill the slot.
