Don't really know. Forged is better than cast, billet is better than forged. Chrome moly for a drive shaft is better than mild steel. Carbon fiber is lighter but costs a bunch more for a drive shaft.
 
Do y'all actually side step your clutch? Man, if you want to break stuff, that's the way to do it! Also, with a line lock, you can actually let the pedal up just enough to put a small amount of drag on the clutch to take the slack out of the drive train.

I put a mild steel shaft in mine. My builder told me that the moly wasn't needed at my power levels, and wasted money. The aluminum one I had, wasn't strong enough at a reasonable diameter. I tend to believe them. They build shafts for crazy-powerful stuff and NASCAR. Great guys, great service, and don't sell you stuff you don't need.

I guess it's what you are comfortable with. I broke one and decided I never wanted to do that again.
