Ok guys. I have been thinking about this for a while and seem to be having a harder time then I would have figured. Sometime this year the Coronet is going to need some new shoes and I have been thinking 235/60 R15 fronts and 255/60 R15 rears. The problem is nobody seems to have these sizes and prices seem to be astronomical.

So what sizes are you guys running and where/who did you get them from. And if you are willing prices would be helpful!

Thank you!

Been awhile since running tires close to that size....275-60's on the rear but mine were BFG Comp TA and they came from Discount Tire.

What is your definition of astronomical? I'm putting 255/60/15 Radial T/As on my car, and they're going to be about $175 a wheel when all is said and done at Sam's Club. Mastercraft and Cooper also make them and they're around $120/wheel.

What you may want to consider if you can't afford new is going the used route. That's what I did to get my car on the road. Go to the used tire shops in the area, leave them your name and number and what types of tires you need, and if they find them they'll call you. I never thought I would find a used set of Radial/TA 225/70/14s is this day and age, but a used tire shop in the area was able to get me an excellent set of four, and I ended up paying about $120 for the whole set.

I have the Cooper Cobras on a couple of cars and they are great. No problems getting them about a year ago (255 60 15) but from what you say I better look into another set sooner than later.

Yup saw those, a bit far away to work out unfortunately

Not much selection in this size there. Its been a couple months but I don't think they had an option in a 255/60

I saw these on summit racing and glad you posted. These will probably bee what I go with. Its just wierd that no local shops seem to even offer these sizes

I wish they were still making the Daytona series tires. :(

Shops have only so much room to keep inventory on hand, so they only carry or deal with what readily sells, and right now that's 17"+ tires. It's getting harder and harder to find dealers with 16" tires in stock.

I have that size combo on my 66 Belvedere. I bought from Summit and had them deliver the wheels and tires mounted and balanced. Their prices were very competitive with Discount Tire and Big O Tire here in AZ.

. Mine too. The wheels and tires pictured were purchased mounted and balanced from Summit. FedEx girl was cute too.

I completely understand that. What I mean is they don't list them as even available for order.

I buy my tires off Amazon.com. A lot of vendors offer free shipping and they actually have pretty competitive pricing. Of course you have to get them mounted, but that's no different than tire rack.

Just bought a set of BFG Radial TA's for 142.00 a tire at discount 255/60r15's

I just went to my local Wheel Works and have a set of Cooper 255 60 15's coming Mon.

Hard to beat Summit Racing with free shipping over $99 & great competitive tire & rims prices, BFG Radial T/A's have served me well over the many years
