Actually the B&T was stronger. In fact they still used them in on Mopars in Nascar into the ‘70’s.

Finally got my car over to the trans shop. Had the driveshaft replaced with the slip joint/U joint style as discussed here. Also had them install a one way valve to see it it stops the convertor from leaking down and causing a mess. I still need to drive it on the freeway to make certain it was balanced properly. They also had to repair a bad cable on the push button
