1963 dodge polara engine swap

I like the new Hemi's as much as the next guy, but same power for more than twice (or thrice) the price of a Magnum with alot more work? hmm.....ps If you go BB I've got the correct early stock pan and a Moroso 7 qt. pan #20760 that's new I don't need anymore ( sold my 65 Satellite 4 sp.) Save ya a li'l more $.

Hey, I do understand the money side of it. Just throwing out another option so don't get upset, I'm not trying to sway anyone in any direction, just another great Mopar engine family to look at.

I agree sumbit ...the thought of owning a HEMI is kid in a candy store type high ..but a Magnum would be more reali$tic and VERY close to the same amount of muscle if not the bragging rights ...and as the years pass bragging right are just that and no more.....

How about a unwanted 383? Seems they can be had cheap. I have passed up two that needed freshening for $100 each. I swapped my Bel 273 with a 340 I had. I wish I just put the BB in instead now. Anyone want to by a hot 340?

440

its going to be a 440 big block come spring ...I'll be busy all winter gathering part$ and getting suspension done..need springs, shocks, gas tank, sending unit, ball joints and tie rods, 2 torque thrust rims and ................................ oh yeah money $$ ..picked up a trans will have that gone over, ..sounds like a plan ...thanks for info guys

I think Schumacher has your motor mount kit for that swap. $160 inc. shipping. Good Luck and let's see some pics!

44070Dart;nice '63 there. Got a 413 in my Sport Fury,so I'm gonna lean towards the BB route... I understand the $$$ issue;one(of I'm sure many) question is what type of performance level you are looking for,and is handling/cornering an issue? OK,that's two questions. Good luck!

think a 440 with right cam and a little head work will do me just fine..this is a street car with occasional 1/8 blast at our track...this will be a straight line car not really concerned with handling ...will go with disc in the future though.. there is a 440 on line here that I was going with but the guy that was doing the swap for me backed out [ it was a barter deal for my 318/727 ] so I'm in a holding pattern
