It don't hurt to ask. I was looking for a sedan when my Bel came along, and like Kikgas I don't want to cut up a clean car to put my Hemi in.

I really do appreciate the offer. Thanks for trying.

Great.
Cedar Falls, Iowa is nice this time of year, too......right?
Just the perfect time to make a trip.

I thought cars were selling. What happened?

That sucks, since you are the guy I'd like to have it.
It always boils down to one common problem every time: Money.

Yup. 18k is just to much for me. I could do a lot with 18k heh heh. At least ya don`t have to sell it and take a beating on it.

Plymouth

I have actually seen and ridden in this car and it is really a monster. I like the car and probably would have bought it last year, except for the fact that this thing needs 110 octane on top of the 93 to get started. I just don't have any 110 pumps within a hundred miles of me. The aluminum heads help, but somebody needs to tear the engine down, put some 10:1 pistons in it and try again.

I could live with using the fuel additives to raise the octane, but I have been told over and over that those things just don't work.

And, yes, $18K is steep in this market. Almost nothing is selling right now. $15K would probably move it and that's not giving it away. This car is not going to go up in value, most cars in this era are not. That's just the way things are, 18-25 year old boys (the low pants crowd) want a Civic with an Acura engine and most have absolutely no idea what a max wedge is. I'm 63 years old and I don't care if it goes up in value or not, I just want to roar down the road and offend and scare hell out of people, like I wanted to do 45 years ago.

It is a nice car, I actually like the color, I like the way it sits and it sounds great. It looks and sounds very much like the old Dabb's Motor Company Super Stock that used to run at the drag strip near Clarksville, TN, back in 1963 when I was 16. It's no show car though and really should be on the track where 110 is available.

I've been looking for a year for a nice max wedge clone and this one is actually the best I've found (all things considered), but still doesn't work for me (price and fuel requirement). Oh, well, still looking.

I wanted it as a roller. I have a nice pump gas 550 horse big block on the stand. Brand new, never fired. It has 8,500 in it now lol. Better watch what ya say or your reply will get edited from saying your opinion though. I love that 63. Always have.

That is so funny..........I feel the same way!

Had to smile when I saw this comment. Reminds me of my outings into town with my 62' Plymouth. Nothing like cruising around in a car that is best described by many as, obnoxious :3gears:

PMSJAW - if you can afford to sit on it don't budge on your price. $18k is more than a bargin for that car. Its only a matter of finding someone who really wants one and the price will be a non issue. Not everyone is really in love with the early Mopars but when you find someone who is it will sell..

Yeah, I can wait. I know what your saying.
As long as my wife stays quiet, it'll be fine for a while.

I'd consider selling as a roller, but I'd still have to get solid money that way.
Regardless of how soft the market is, I've gotten some pretty decent offers for her. Just not quite good enough though.

I may test the waters with my 62' Savoy this year at some of the shows to see if I can find that one person that just loves the car. My task will probably be a bit tougher than yours even, as I have a lot more money in my car and it's a 4 door to boot! I figure if I can get close to what I have into it I'd let it go - but I know it will be difficult in this market.
I will definitely miss it when it's gone but I think I'd like to get something a bit more "tame"...

The 63

I'd have bought it a year ago when I saw it at Tubby's in Florida, except my wife doesn't like the idea of me keeping 50 gallon drums of racing fuel in the garage. If the EPA allows the local Sunoco station to put in a 260 pump, I'll make an offer. Face it, if you put 93 octane in this car, the engine is gonna think it's cat pee.

No doubt, this is a very nice 63, I have not seen a better one, outside of the high dollar auctions. But nowadays, to sell a hot car (quickly and easily), the ad has to say "pump gas". It'll sell at your price, for sure even in this bad market, just needs a buyer who lives next door to a drag strip or whose uncle owns a refinery.

Ok, I want to buy several of the 102 cars that I'm trying to sell (see my posting for them if interested),
Thus, at this time (and I reserve the right to raise the price back up to where it belongs at any time) I am willing to lower the price of this car to:

$16,000 FIRM
Yes, that is a loss for me. However, it will give me the opportunity to buy several other projects.
If you are seriously interested, contact me NOW, before I change my mind.

$16,000 FIRM gentlemen.

Plymouth

Just wonder what it would cost to ship it to Winchester, VA??

I can haul it myself for you for $700.
PM me if serious.
