I want to paint my car Ruby Red ( after a loooot of doubts between black, blue and red...)
I am looking for paintinfo to pass on to my bodyman, to mix the correct color.
Hope that anyone can help!!

Hi there Mr4

Our 63 dodge is in the original (well, repainted 20+ years ago) PP1 Vermillion red.
As you can see from those colour charts (Dodge & Plymouth), it's the only red used in 63.

It still has some of the original paint tho, in the engine bay, trunk & door shuts. The original paint is a bit darker than the bits that have been repainted.

1st pic shows the driver's door original paint (before we got it) and the 2nd is the original piant under the hood, just after we received it (yes, the sun does shine over here sometimes! :icon_sunny:)

I've got some paint info somewhere, i'll try and dig it out, unless someone else has it to hand....

Just found this info from back in '06 when we had some steelies painted.

The painter said he uses Glasurit so i originally gave him this:

"Here are the formulae in Glasurit 55 Line, which is the solvent based version, if you prefer to use waterborne, let me know and I'll sort out Formulae for 90 line

Formula 1963 Dodge Vermillion
Target ltr kg

Base Amount Cumulative UNIT
352-91 302.8 302.8 g
M355 733.8 1036.6 g
A927 301.9 1338.4 g
M201 244.1 1582.5 g
M25 25.7 1608.2 g
A926 8.0 1616.2 g"

He then asked for 'water or 22 line', so I gave him this:

"Formula for 22 Line:

Base Amount Cumulative
M0 199.0 199.0 g
M201 496.8 695.8 g
A346 150.2 846.0 g
M326 138.5 984.5 g
M60 61.2 1045.7 g
M974 17.2 1062.9 g"

Hope some of this helps? :icon_winkle:

marcel
