I am currently installing Disc Brakes on my 1964 Dodge Polara 500 which has what appears to be a factory sway bar. The kit was purchased from the Ram Man. The issue I'm having is interference between the reinforcement and the caliper. If I move the reinforcement up to the point where the sway bar is curved I have plenty of clearance. It ends up being about 3 1/2" from the end of the sway bar. Which puts this about 5" away from where the strut attaches to the lower arm. I'm sure moving the reinforcement that far from the end of the sway bar will reduce the effectiveness of it due to a shorter lever arm, but what I'm really concerned about is bending the strut. The other disappointing item is the lack of support I have received from Wayne at the Ram Man. I have called several times and left e-mails but have never received a response. He did not ask me if the car had a sway bar when I ordered the kit and I didn't discover I was going to have an issue until I already had the driver's side completed. I read through the make-shift installation guide and the only reference I found was rather vague stating that some High Performance models that had sway bars might need to have a special order rear mounted caliper, hand written. It would have been nice to been asked these questions before I ordered the kit. Anyway, enough of the complaining. If anyone has any thoughts I would appreciate them. But, word to the wise concerning the Ram Man.
