Selling an extremely original and complete 1965 DodgeCoronet 500 with a 361/Automatic and hooked up AC (haven’t tried it yet). Being a 500, it is a hard-top and has bucketswith a very nice center console. Paint is original lacquer best I can tell. I am no Mopar expert, but I am a purist and absolutely appreciate a unmolested original. A car that has survived thisoriginal for this many years deserves a good Mopar home which is why I amposting here on this forum. This car doesnot deserve to bastard rat-rod unless your idea of ‘rat-rod’ has a fiberglasshood and hemi. :icon_fU:
The original shocks(once replaced) are in the trunk with extra headlight tins and original hubcaps. The owner and his father wereexacting about not putting any holes in the car that weren’t originally there. In short, this is a complete, solid functionalcar that can be enjoyed now and worthy of a complete cosmetic restoration atyour convenience. No time wasted parts-chasinghere.

Originally sold inCalifornia and currently in San Diego, it had always been garaged untilthe last few years. Currently shows 73000miles on the clock. The interior hasalways been covered with towels and is literally a stunner as all the details(dashpad, brightwork, radio, gauges, buttons, etc) are in brilliant originalshape. The original interior is in nearexceptional shape save for one split in the driver’s seat…forgivable after 48 years
The big block 361 firesup and runs without issue… no smoke, sounds very smooth. The brakes were redone shortly prior to itsrecent inactivity and the pedal feels great. A log in the car has recorded dates, mileage andgas consumption at fill-ups.
I will be taking pictures and posting shortly, paying specific attention to relevant information (body, rust, tags, numbers, etc ). I’ve seen no significant rust on the car with the exception of surface rust over the rearwell the size of a silver dollar (it is positively surface rust), so please point out areas of rust activity and I will inspect/photograph accordingly.
I am required to post an asking price by forumrules. Based on my limited knowledge andresearch of B bodies, I am offering the car for $8500. I welcome any comments or insights (or even offers). I will not be offended as I am notfamiliar with this market and the pricing guides can be misleading, so feelf ree.

Read some of the suggested information to include in my post. Car is located in San Diego, CA. Happy to help ship (can dropoff at shippers or accommodate pick up). Sorry, no pics just yet, I would be embarrassed to post pics till I can get it cleaned up and looking proper which should be in the coming days.

Thanks to all for a great site and any feedback.

Based on what I read, (with out seeing pic's) it should bring the $8500.00 as a big block car. If I had the money, I would almost buy it sight un-seen...lol Good luck with your sale!

Me as an 65 Coronet owner is really looking forward to some pics! :hello2:

Will probably be till the weekend till I can get to the car, am anxious to post and get some feedback. I wish dirt was cheap here in So-cal.... I'd have a classic car farm.

I was out at Coronado Island 3 weeks ago, wish I could have seen it in person! 2000 miles away now.

:bowtied i don't know that i can wait till the weekend ! ! (its all ready friday ) but still... what color is the exterior and interior,... **** describe the whole car... PLEEEEASE :eek:s_dancing2:

Lol. Had no idea I was torturing anyone... this is betterthan water-boarding.

Car is white/white (interior has tan carpet and dash accents, etc). I replacedgas lines to/from fuel pump last eve... starts and runs like a champ. I amhopeful to get it out of deep storage and knock the dingleberries off it (thatis the technical term… correct). Pics are coming… Will try to post some initialpics (even dirty) tomorrow.

Just look pastthe years of dust and residual road ilk… she is very complete and originaloverall… that’s what makes her beautifu. A 47 lady who looks great without makeup waking up after 3 years of camping.

A good cosmetic restoration, or just leave her in survivor state. The motor and tranny are reportedly virgins too!

Okay,
Getting late andwanting to provide something. Drove carhome today and really drove beautifully, battery is junk tho. Otherwise, car ran and drive reallybeautifully. I didn’t do anything to theinterior other than a quick vacuum. Idid not clean this interior! Wear isvery minimal, am going to provide at least a few pics as I need to go watch amovie with the wifey who’s been very patient with me playing cars the last fewevenings.
Please consider,I haven’t even washed this car off. Iwanted to take air and remove any dirt, etc from the chrome and stainless insteadof washing it into channels where it doesn’t belong.

Thanks for all who are checking it out.. More pics tofollow shortly. Again, original paintand interior. Motor runs beautifully, especially consider the long deep sleep she’s been in.

Engine bay, we need engine bay!! Nice original hub caps!! Never thought of putting a gauge in the ashtray!

I tried mightily to add engine bay pics last eve but theydidn’t post, not sure why. Will give itanother try! Not sure if I explainedlast post, but there is no rust through in the trunk. It is surface discoloration and flaking ofthe trunk. It is rock solid. I just removed the original trunk mat andtook pictures. Original spare, hubcaps, jack and accessories are all accounted for, as well as a bunch of extras like(new in box) starter relays, ignition, brake parts, etc.

I also did nothing to clean up the motor, is 'as found' shape.

You might notice the homemade overflow tank on the passenger side... very neat.DSC06133.jpgDSC06134.jpg

Wow, unmolested 65 very nice. That is a nice survivor. There were 7011 of them with 361-2, bet there are very few in that condition.

If I had the room I'd be all over that 65! Hope it goes to a person who will care for it! Looks like all it needs is a good detailing! Hope it stays as a survivor!!!

Wow! That’s abeautiful blue!

Yesterday, I was looking through the records and foundthe original sales contract, window sticker, paid in full note, and originalowners manual in the dealer plastic!

nice paperwork, perhaps show the driver-side and front-end, it appears from the extra parts in the trunk (headlight doors and head gasket pkg) that the car maybe had some front-end damage and might have an overheating issue? Is the gauge in the ashtray an oil gauge?

Always loved the center consoles in '64&'65's
