Does anyone know what the largest rear wheel and tire combo I can fit on my 1967 Coronet 2dr. without modifying it to much. I am sure this has been discussed already but I cant seem to find a thread. The Car is not lifted or lowered in any way, the suspension is completely stock. Thanks in advance

Before I went back to factory 5.5" road wheels and 7.75 x 14 redlines on my original '67 R/T, I ran 205/70-14's on 7" wide Ford Magnums, and it was close. There isn't a lot of room in the rear wheel wells on the pre-'68 B-bodies.

15x7 with 4 3/8" or 4.25" back space with 275/60-15 fit, but it is tight. I've been doing it for years.

Thank you so much for the info I have been told many sizes and options but i think the 15x7 is what im going to get because i would like to upgrade to a 15 inch rim and room is limited that is for sure.

I'd like to see some close up pics of that.I run 8" wheels with 255/70 15 & that's tight.

I have a 66 Satellite i am running 275/60/15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials.

the 275/60/15's will fit,but may rub in turns and you have to get you wheel centered almost perfect in the wheel well.krowbar your 70 aspect ratio is prob why your tires are tight.
the 275/60/15 are about 27.992 inch tall(dep on wheel width and brand )
the 255/70/15 are about 29.055 inch tall.

I would love to see pictures of various sizes if anyone has them. Thanks

I can send you some pics of my set-up 275 50 15 drag radials on 8 inch wheels 4 1/2 inch back spacing. the previous owner did roll the outer part of inside fender though. the part where the trim screws to,but not noticeable when the wheel trim installed. PM me an email if interested. Good luck on your project.

The section width is what is tight. I wouldn't mind going to a smaller diameter for looks , but my 3.91 gears make me stay with a taller tire.

I just put on a test fit tire and wheel combo on my '66 belvedere tonight. I used a 275/50/15 mounted on an 8" weld draglite with 4 1/2" back spacing. Stock rear suspension but the wheel lip is rolled from previous owner. There is still space between tire and quarter panel and tire and leaf spring. Haven't driven it yet but all looks good. Don't think anymore rubber could fit in there. By the way, it does look like it will hit the inner wheel well if a big bump is hit unless it is modified being it rounds in toward the center of wheel well a bit.
