1967 GTX Voltage regulator

Here was the final pass. I’m done tinkering, there’s a lot of technique here also. I think I blasted and repainted this about 10 times. I have to find the Simply Stamps order number.

Just finished mine today. I had the exact same font and lettering size as Copper67's vr and had them make 2 separate stamps. I used Color Shot acrylic in "emoji yellow" since 68-69 went from red to yellow print. Took a few tries, but fortunately if it didn't turn out right you could remove the paint if you were quick enough and try it again.

The key when doing this is amount of pressure and amount of paint on the stamp.

get a piece of flat sheetmetal , paint it low gloss black and practice practice practice

I had this exact stamp made almost 15 years ago. and trust me, practice is key

fyi, low gloss of flat black works best for the surface to be stamped .
Gloss black tends to cause the stamp to slide around more easily.

Once you have it the way you want it , clear it with the gloss level of clear you prefer

I just had a stamp made to do the upper radiator hose on my car . at RUBBERSTAMPCHAMP.com

Here is a pic of an NOS unit I came across recently that I was trying to duplicate. The one I found in the yard was exactly like this, but light surface rust. There was enough of the lettering visible to get the correct font size and style. Maybe this image will help others in case they want to do the same thing.

Different supplier/year different font size? See post #4.
This one may have been a dealer replacement part. Not exactly sure, especially since the date code is missing.

The one in post #4 I bought from a dealer in 1989. Bought second one from another dealer. Rectangular box cover no ing/fld stamp and just 2098300 in white letters.

Interesting to see how many variations of the exact same part number were made.

factory installed Ive only ever seen the one basic cover,,just stamped in either red or yellow depending on year.

Its the over the counter replacements that have variations over the years , and that has been mostly mid to late 70s and later
