Trying to find out what the correct fan for 1967 Coronet R/T hemi. Auto, built on March 16th

Good question. Some in the 66/67 period seem to have run clutch fans and some seem to have run direct drive fans. I’ve never heard of a good explanation for the variance - different plant? Auto vs 4-speed? Engineering change?

From what I have researched, early built cars came with 4 blade fixed fans. This car is a later built, should have a 7 blade fan. I cant find any info on a clutch or not. Service manual only shows the 4 blade option. My expert friend says 7 blade clutch. Not sure which way to go. Trying to keep the car close to original.

I sold one earlier this year to a forum member for his 1966 Hemi Belvedere. I believe the number on the fan blade was 2585376. The number decoded to '66-'67 cars with H.D. cooling package (basically, cars with 26" rad). 7 blade aluminium fan with clutch.

Greetings: I have a 67 Coronet R/T 440 4-speed. It is an original car and I am the original owner. i have the aluminum fan with the 2806070 clutch fan. My understanding was that the 440 4-speeds came with the aluminum with clutch and the automatics came with the metal and no clutch. Maybe the Hemi's were the same in 67. Hope this helps. Also has a DANA 3:54

Have a hemi/727 GTX broadcast sheet shows the fan 32 spacer 34
January 5, 1967 SBD

That means 7 Blade fixed fan.

Same as all the 440/727 GTX sheets I have.

OK it seems that 1966 hemis had a 4 blade fan.
The 1-5-67 GTX hemi/727 sheet I have shows a solid 7 blade.

Anyone have a 1967 hemi/727 sheet from September 1966-December 1966? Or find one online from a car for sale?

The fan pictured is the fan that Steve Kirschbaum recommended. His brother Al was a journalist for Hotrod magazine for years. He knows his numbers. I tried to argue the point of the 4 blade fixed and the CAP fans. He insists it is the right one. Its not my car, just trying to help a friend out, so he has the last word.

Accolades aside I don't remember Chrysler putting clutch fans on automatic cars without A/C in 1967. 426, 440, 383, etc. even trailer tow with HD cooling. That's where the broadcast sheet comes in real handy.

But I use church fans on most cars.
