How would you compare the performance versus the stock cam?

Not sure how into MPG you are, but would be interested in that difference as well.

I'll post my results very soon, I have yet to get the engine back in the car, also still shopping a tuner. I have been looking into SCT Tuner, but have little experience with them.

Did you keep your torsion bars?

No I didn't the full transformer K frame converts to coilover with it's own upper and lower UCA's along with steering rack etc...

I gotta say though I didn't hate the torsion bars. My only reason for the coilover conversion was because I was swapping in a T56 and the torsion bar cross member was in the way for how we wanted it mounted.

You can upgrade your torsion bars and sway bar and if you want to play with ride height and go lower then pick up a set of drop spindles

My reason's are the same as yours, the torsion bar cross member is in the way of my 46RE swap.

I am very interested in mpg, the stock Ram was rated at 16 hwy, and I think 12 or 13 city. When I swapped to the Hughes grind my mpg went up to 22 hwy and 15 city. I will be interested to see how it reacts to the 224/230 grind.

I spent some quality time with Ramrunner last night I removed the lower control arms, torsion bars, upper control arms, shocks, and strut rods. I picked up an Energy Suspension Poly bushing kit a few weeks ago to replace all of my worn out rubber bushings (and MAN! they were shot!) no wonder Ramrunner handled so bad at the autocross.

While removing the torsion bars, and lca's I damaged the pivot shafts. I shopped for some this morning, I can't believe they cost $65 bucks. By chance does anyone know where you can get them for less than that? Also since the torsion bars are out I think they will be replaced with the big block bars, I have not found a source for those yet.

Oh I forgot to mention the QA1 uca's. Wifey got me those for Christmas (isn't she the best).

Thanks. what Hughes grind were you running before to get those numbers?

The hughes part number is SER0814ALN-14 Duration is 208* 214* .523" .533" Lobe separation 114* install centerline 110*.
One of the posts on this thread was a video from my youtube channel showing a tour of the Satellite, I start the engine start and hear it idling. I will have to note the high MPG only happens during very warm weather, because of the 180* t-stat.

What year Ram was the donor? Hopefully 96 or newer? As long as it is OBD 2 you are in good shape. I'd contact Ryan at www.frptuning.com and he can get you handled no problem. You will need to get a wideband O2 setup for the tuning. I did this same exact swap into a 71 Dart Swinger, and it worked out awesome. Also did a turboed 5.9 setup in a South African Valiant, and Ryan made her run like a raped ape. Nice to see someone else doing this swap.

Hey thanks for the tip, I will contact Ryan when I'm ready for the tune. When first did the swap it was a 1995 sooo OBD I, but I am upgrading to OBD II. I do not regret doing the swap, It made the car a joy to drive.

I placed a large parts order today, .96 torsion bars, lower control arm pivot shafts, lower control arm box plates, KYB front and rear performance shocks, and performance front brake pads by Hawk Performance. This should keep me busy for a few days.

Yesterday we had some great weather so I made trip to the bone yard. I picked up a complete 1996 Dodge Ram OBD II wire harness. I was surprised that when I tried to plug in the transmission harness it did not fit the 46RE. I had no idea Dodge changed the equipment so often, that mean I can't use the new to me transmission. OK, plan B is in play, today I ordered the Compushift A518 standalone controller.

As of yesterday I got all my new parts installed. I also got the engine and transmission back in. I did not pick up a 1996 and new kegger intake, so I had to fab up an EGR block off plate, and plug for the EGR tube. I'll get some pics later today.

Thought I would post some updates to the Ram runner project, going back through the old threads, seems like a life time ago. Many things have changed, like the 5.9 magnum is now running aftermarket efi from FAST, and the intake is a 4 bbl Mopar M1, has headers from Jegs, a fast ratio pitman arm, and aftermarket gauges from auto meter.
