1968 bengal charger

It's not important enough to me to do five seconds of research about. What true gain is there in knowing if a dealership decided to put some badges on a few of their cars? Besides, it appears you know more about the subject than your questions would suggest. Why act so uninformed with rhetoric inquiries if you already know the answers before asking the questions?
until i read this thread and followed the Link that Polywideblock provided,
i was uninformed, which is why i made the 20 minute comment.
i admit ive looked at the material a few times since then,
but more to see whats out there in total.

you,on the other hand, have made 4 posts on a topic you dont even care about in your own words.

we Do care about this topic, and its obviously produced results.
Many thanks to Hemi-Hampton again for providing those pics.

and to john...
have a good day sir.

I didn't say I didn't care about the topic. I like reading the comments. Unlike some around here though, I have better things to do than constantly challenge others about every little detail concerning their comments. You don't have to fight every little battle or dissect every word that you don't agree with. I think it's great that hemihampton has been providing information about these cars. I believe what he says and don't have the interest or time to challenge his story or try to find something wrong in what he said. It doesn't affect me personally. Why waste the time over a car I don't have? I'm sure hemihampton has researched the topic more than anyone here combined. if I'm wrong in my assumptions about what he says, who cares? That's about it.

Assman, if they do not exist then why did they advertise them for sale in the 1972 Cincinnati newspapers?

P.S. I talked to Jeff Warner about these 72's years ago & he knew nothing about them. Never told me a story about somebody just putting emblems on any car at the dealership?

Hummy Hampton, I am only a messenger from an old club member relaying his thoughts on this subject. Here is another bit of info that he mentioned, if it is correct or not, we will let you ,Hummy Hampton, or others figure it out. The color on the "Bengal Charger" that Jeff used was Omaha Orange. I know for a fact that he painted his engine compartment when he rebuilt his motor and the paint matched great. Everybody talks about "The Dealer" . Who were these dealers? I'm sure they had names.

HH's post #48 pg 3, 5 Cincinnati dealers listed??

Glassman,heres your list.
Tri county dodge.
Colerain dodge
Kenmont?? dodge
Newport auto sales Inc.
Tom Kneer dodge.
(someone should check out those Other dealers for paperwork of any kind?)

also, the color omaha orange was a 999 code/just means special paint/ and i vaguely? recall that it had a bad habit of fading too fast when first introduced.
not sure what color code is on the bengals.
i thought it was more of a reddish orange but hey i dont know.

as an aside to this topic,
i find it a bit sad that we are posting insults and slaggin each other off over a topic that could be discussed normally.
while i dont agree with glassman nor mr Cook posts on this topic,
i still will refrain from posting insults or making Snide comments as others have done.

heres hoping we can all behave a bit better...
after all,ten years from now, someone else might be reading this thread for Help.

Those 68s with that color orange, Are just Un-holy. Dont get much better then that IMO.

The 68's came in that omaha orange (actually MDOT Michigan Department of Transportation) orange because Chrysler said they did not have a factory orange to offer at that time. Chrysler was not going to waste there time specially painting 5 or 10 cars a special orange so they made them order a fleet of 50. Which I would not be surprised if all 50 were outsourced to there favorite outsource company that handled that kind of work for them, Creative Industries which did the Superbird & Daytona conversions & all there show cars. This is just speculation on my part. Chrysler did not come out with a orange, Hemi Orange Code #EV2 until mid year 1969 as a extra cost high Impact Color. Since the Hemi Orange Color existed in 1972 there would be no need to order a fleet of 50. LEON.

That was the purpose for my original comment. When you posted on page 2 basically insinuating the guy was a liar for his rendition of the topic, I thought that was classless and rude. Just remember that saying "no offense intended" after making an offensive comment, doesn't negate the fact that you actually made one. Good to see you want to keep things cordial. Thanks.

It's good to see making nice is working here.
However--from an outsiders view reading this topic your post appears to be rather condescending and offensive in tone as a response.

It sounds like a teaching moment you make for BeatersRus and other readers (since it is public).

I (for one) am better for it as a reader. Thanks. I continue to learn about how jerks make their way in this world.

I use the word "jerk" for lack of a better one. (no offence intended as you may very well not fit the meaning of jerk as you might see it).

Whatever the proper word might be for who you are --one thing is clear to the rest of us. That is that you (by your nature) are the last one to know about it.

sometime "snide comments" are the only ones that can be made .when someone is challenging a "know" fact just for the sake of challenging it and basically getting in an augment

I continue to learn......

The thing I continue to learn is the selective differential tolerance some show towards the same types of behavior. Some folks accept or ignore rudeness when it's one of their buddies but they don't have a problem pointing fingers at the same type of behavior if it's someone outside of their selected circle.

well john,im not sure how i could have stated it any clearer that what he posted didnt make sense,Plus i threw in the no offense so he would know it Wasnt anything personal Because he was relating personal experiences.
i didnt call him a liar,i said part of what he said that Jeff told him didnt make sense.
i then laid out my reasoning, and got some random ranting from you for 2 pages in replies.

so which one of us was the classless and rude one again?
the guy who wanted to discuss glassmans post
or the guy who trolled for 2 pages?

and,i should have been a bit clearer about my play nice comment,
you are absolutely correct Poly,my apologies to you.

and to glassman,i seriously hope you didnt think the same as john here.
i think jeff gave you bad info and you relayed it and we didnt agree and have discussed it.
and hey! we all learned something about bengal chargers.

I came to this thread with the sole interest of Bengal Chargers.....NOT pissant bickering!

Being an actual Charger owner along with other Mopars it is this type of history of Chrysler I want to learn about!

HH provided an ad with 5 dealers listed in relation to 72 Bengals.....I am sure there is more information to be found and possibly relayed in this thread.

BTW HH thanks for joining it is good to see you away from DC.com!!!

Thanks Glassman, I appreciate you taking your time to talk to Jeff. Hemi-Hampton, thanks for your contributions. Sorry this subject caused a bit of controversy, I was just trying to get / give information about an interesting piece of Dodge Charger history.
Again, thanks to the helpful FBBO members so we can keep the MOPAR cars alive!
